Literally no Democrat will be able to do that. The Republicans will obstruct everything a Dem president tries to get through congress. The question is whether he'll be able to build a movement to get leftists elected and to get his platform passed. Given that he's the only candidate focused on doing that, he's in the best position. It's also important that he's the only one of the three leaders making the case for breaking up ICE given that a president has the power to issue sweeping executive orders. It's possible that he could just do away it himself, theoretically.
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
I know this is a wonderful and accurate headline, and its applaudable of its own merits, but I sat down and read the entire plan for immigration reform and there are SO many amazing tenants of this idea, its truly one of, if not the most transformative and comprehensive immigration reform plan proposed in the last few years I suggest you all read it as well. https://berniesanders.com/en/issues/welcoming-and-safe-america-all/ 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

The functions and jurisdictions of several border and revenue enforcement agencies were combined and consolidated into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Under ICE, there are Investigative Intelligence Teams for human trafficking, computer crimes, art crimes, money laundering, drug smuggling, etc. There is also International Intelligence with 60 locations around the world. HSI's foreign offices, known as Attaché Offices, work with foreign governments to identify and combat transnational criminal organizations before they threaten the United States. Then, there are the Special Response Teams that provide safety for National Events or engage in high risk arrests. They also help out in National Disasters. The Air Marshall Service is also under ICE. There is much more, but I won’t list everything. ICE is way more than group of people chasing down immigrants. There are much needed services and safety that this division provides.
hankhatesyouall 2,731
This is absolutely insane It's actually scary how far-left America has become in order to even consider this him a viable candidate with such an outlandish stance on immigrantion. I’m sure we’ll be fine. Even if it does result in more immigration... the US like most of the developed world needs more immigrants for laborforce to help offset ageing population that is retiring

Like Bernie did with Warren’s college debt plan? Nice racial slur there, Trump. By the way, Warren released her immigration plan four months ago. But agree Pocahontas is a terrible way to describe Warren. We can and should compare records and policies but not republican talking points. Note: I’m aware free tuition isn’t the same as debt cancellation but let’s not pretend that this issue wasn’t on Bernie’s radar this election cycle as a result of Warren

Not to mention Warren’s plan isn’t as comprehensive in its application of Bernie’s plan whether it be climate change, immigration or student debt cancellation, but by all means take it as a win. By the way, Warren released her immigration plan four months ago. Well it’s a pattern w the mainstream media to do that between Bernie and WARren. Especially with the wealth tax that he’s been advocating since the 70s, as well as a single-payer healthcare system. I justifiably call her Pocahontas (I apologize for using this name, see next paragraph) because we cannot minimize the harm and racist actions WARren took by self-identifying as a Native American for Affirmative Action employment. WARren identified herself as Native American in federally mandated diversity statistics for at least six years while a professor at Harvard Law School despite lacking the “tribal affiliation” outlined in those documents. Contemporaneously, Harvard repeatedly touted Warren as an example of ethnic diversity among Law School faculty to academic press outlets, championing her as the institution’s “only tenured minority woman” and “first woman of color.” The University of Pennsylvania – at which Warren taught prior to Harvard – likewise cited her in a “Minority Equity Report.” And Warren admitted that she had listed herself for a full decade as a “minority” in Association of American Law School Directories from 1986 until 1995, the year she secured tenure at Harvard. She literally took jobs away from real, oppressed Native Americans, and pretended she was Native American for self-gain and to get advanced in life. Harvard touted her as a Native American employment. Not to mention she did not even actively protest against the DAPL, while beingsupposedly “Native American”, while Bernie did. it is messed up of me to say pocahontas and I apologize - bc I mysef am not native american so should not use that name. But as a minority myself, (I am latino)it just angers me what she did for more than a decade, pretending to be a minority and taking that status to her full advantage. Taking jobs and opportunities with laws meant to alleviate the ones suffering.
