I agree. I'm not saying I love every project she puts out but I do like seeing someone who works hard and tries to keep things interesting for fans.

"her new singles"..... those are literally all side projects that nobody promoted. Before the tour started she literally said that she'll have side projects for the rest of 2019 and that she's gonna lay low and eventually go on a hiatus after tour. You're misinformed and biased.

Read your replies here and it's so transparent that YOU are a fan that doesn't stand other people criticising your favorite pop queen. You are the one "biased"

How come her manager said they'll going to make boyfriend #1 if it's a song that wasn't supposed to be a hit though?  Why did she release Don't Call Me Angel on CD format if it was just a side project that wasn't support to chart? 🤔

I‘m biased because I like her work ethic? :oprah:

Idk what her manager said, but I recall Ariana clearly stating that „Boyfriend“ was a little gift to the fans from the very beginning.

DCMA was a side-project for Ariana but it was the lead single for a movie, don‘t forget that. They released it the way they did, without any promotion. Ari never sung it live or anything. Again you‘re informations aren‘t very solid and so aren‘t your assumptions.

If the artist is in his own peak, he will only be able to make the song into the Billboard Top 5 by his name.:lana:

No, you are biased because you are her fan.

I can ask you the same question: I am biased because not all my opinions towards her are praise?

"My informations aren't solid :deadbanana:" ... everything I said was true. Scooter was bragging about how Boyfriend was going to be a hit and then threw tantrums when he saw its chart position. Search in his tweets if you want to inform yourself. DCMA was supposed to be a hit, otherwise she wouldn't have released it. The movie wanted a hit and approached her, this is how it goes and it's naive to think otherwise.

Feel free to sell the "the songs were gifts and the fact they flopped is justified"  narrative though, but as I said it's naive.

All my opinions towards her aren't praise either though and if Ariana herself would've shown any signs that she wants her side-projects to be #1 hits, I'd agree with you and say "wow what a flop, she's past her peak lol" too. But since she kept saying that she's working on stuff that's "not for her but for a fun project" that she did with her friend Savan Kotecha (who produced the soundtrack). Knowing how hard Ariana usually pushes & promotes songs that they want to be worldwide hits, it was very clear from the beginning that this might be a huge project in general but a fun little side-project for her. I mean they didn't even bother to write new songs, they took a couple unreleased songs and re-recorded them.

I saw Scooter saying he wants "boyfriend" to go #1 (ofc he would) but I didn't pay too much mind to him. If the song was good enough to be #1 without any promo cool, but even I - as a fan - know that it's not that special to do that well and apparently Ariana herself didn't care much either, which is understandable since she kept saying she's gonna "go away for a while" even before the tour started.

Again this is not about #1's or flopping but about Ariana releasing stuff to keep fans interested and happy. I don't think this project is planned to spawn a couple #1 hits - it's just something she wants to release. That's good to see. And if it's not, then don't listen to it. Negativity isn't really productive or needed

I don't understand your logic.

The songs can be flops even if she didn't have huge hopes for them (which I am still unsure it's the case).

Either way, her manager did have huge expectations and not mildly. He was rabid and you should probably be familiar with his tweets.

Also, as an example 7 Rings didn't have live performance either. In this day and age the most effective promo is on spotify and she has had it. Let's not foll ourselves like she released an experimental song on an obscure platform and therefore underperformed as a result. The songs were intended to sell and get her label money. It's not the sole reason but a prominent and obvious one.

And again, the project might be good, exciting or needed for the fans but this doesn't mean non-fans can't have an opinion. If you think only positive opinions can be allowed that comes across as fan mentality. Basically you like her and irks you when people don't. This is a natural, normal forum dynamic however and if you don't like it.. it sucks because it can't (and shouldn't) be prevented.  The only artist that you can expect to be universally likes here is Gaga because all people here should be Gaga fans, not Ariana fans. And even Gaga herself isn't free of negativity.

I feel like we were trying to explain two different points lol But I understand what you're trying to say and I respect your opinion. To each his own. Sometimes it just gets annoying when there are several people in a thread just to leave negative & shady comments, as if Ariana always aims to be #1 and when she's not, she's a flop. Idk about people not liking my favourite artists (many friends of mine dislike Gaga, Ariana, etc.) but when people always feel the need to put out negativity, that irks me cause it's pointless.
