I’m excited, but let’s just see if she can create the same type of magic she did onscreen with ASIB or if it’s just going to be an amalgamation of Italian characteristics that we’ve already seen Gaga do. That’s why I was hoping she’d get another role, like Ursula with The Little Mermaid or something outside of her comfortability. 

We’ll have to wait and see I guess. Nevertheless, I’m excited but a little disappointed. It’s her career though and I support every decision she makes and thinks is best for her.

I personally don’t want her involved with any music. ASIB was enough, I’d like to see her go full on actress for this role.

I'm with you on this. ASIB was a very particular project and it needed a musician like her to bring it to life. A movie like this will give her the opportunity to dive into a different thing and show yet another side of herself. I'm excited for her!

Are you for real? She gets to be a lead in a Ridley Scott movie but it's too similar and youre disappointed she's not in The Little Mermaid.. A movie she'd be singing in.

 Angelina Jolie was the same age as Gaga when she was offered the role over ten years ago, Penelope Cruz was also around the same age when she was attached, so it seems like they were specifically looking for early to mid thirties for this role. So I feel like this is going to have a wide timespan, like from 70s to 90s. I'm hopeful of seeing amazing vintage Gucci looks, especially the 70s/80s. 

I see Ridley Scott has a ton of projects lined up on imdb. So I wonder when this would even come out?   If Ridley can't do it, Tom Ford would be brilliant, or if sticking with old legendary directors, the Dressed to Kill hitmaker, Brian De Palma.

This is scheduled to be filmed right after The Last Duel which should begin filming soon. I imagine this wont be filmed till AT LEAST mid to late 2020, which would be perfect I think.

What I meant about the Ridley Scott movie being too similar is the fact that it’s based off an Italian character. Even though I know Gaga is Italian herself, and these are characters she can be good in, I don’t want her typcasted specifically into Italian roles. She always talks about being Italian and honestly that’s probably what she is going to say in the press junkets, that her family is so Italian and she was drawn to this role for that reason.

Yes the Ursula role would have been a singing role, but it would have let Gaga shine in a non-Italian role. Ursula would have been playful and fun. 

I admit my example was a bad one as I’m saying “get Gaga out of familiar roles”, and throwing her into another singing role would not have been the best choice either. I just think seeing her as something else other than a heavily Italian character would have been a good and fresh role for Gaga.
