The indictment of Inyoung You, 21, over the death of Alexander Urtula, 22, was announced in the US state of Massachusetts on Monday.

Mr Urtula died hours before his graduation on 20 May.

At a news conference on Monday, Suffolk District Attorney Rachael Rollins announced that Ms You had been charged with involuntary manslaughter by a Suffolk County grand jury.

The attorney revealed that after an "extensive investigation" police determined that she "was physically, verbally and psychologically abusive towards Mr Urtula during their 18-month-long tumultuous relationship".

"The abuse became more frequent, more powerful and more demeaning in the days and hours leading up to Mr Urtula's death," the attorney said.

She said that the couple had exchanged more than 75,000 text messages in the two months prior to Mr Urtula's death.

In her posts, Ms You urged Mr Urtula to "go kill himself" and "go die", the attorney said.

She added that on 20 May Ms You "was tracking Mr Urtula's location and went to the Renaissance garage" where he killed himself.

This is so sad. I really hope she gets convicted with at least manslaughter and is also forced to seek therapy for her own sake.

Also @Morphine Prince a suggestion: consider changing the title to "dies by suicide" instead of "commits suicide." I used the latter term too until recently. My therapist told me it's not the preferred term anymore. It's not the worst thing but just to be sensitive, the word "commit" is usually used to talk about things that are bad, unlawful, or immoral. Suicide is something very tragic and if a person dies by suicide, they are definitely the biggest victim, not a criminal. Hope that makes sense.

It is bad tho :duck:

id consider it imoral too. Just because its urself instead of someone else its still a life

tho they are victims too at the same time so i get what ur saying. So it kinda makes sence too.

i think political correctness and correct terminology in the 21st century is starting to get so complicated to keep up with tho. One week a term is ok the next week its not... I think were really starting to exaggerate certain things :air:

And im going offf topic now anyway. I hope she gets held accountable and understands what shes dine and he rests in peace. :(

I never understand why the man wouldn't just dump her and block her number knowing she is a toxic maniac like that.

I am so saddened but also angered by this.

I have known people like him myself, the one who think getting treated like that is OK cos they love their other half so much. It isn't! People like him need intervention, for this acquantaince of mine, he got one, and now he is well off and live a better life,  but so sad that nobody did it for this guy in the news, and now he died. :(
