Def Jam actually signed Gaga for a period of time, then they dropped her after she refused to comply with what they wanted (like extreme control over her artistry, taking her songs and giving them to other artists, and extreme autotune on Gaga's voice ect...) Well we don't know those things for sure but that's likely what happened. They didn't like her artistry and didn't allow her to do what she wanted. According to the CEO of Def Jam, she brought a CD of demos in 3 months to him and he didn't like it. It had Beautiful, Dirty, Rich on it (among a few other Fusari songs).
