The Canada-based social network — once valued at $1 billion — ultimately became notorious as a destination for child exploitation. As reported by "48 Hours", 13-year-old Nicole Lovell was murdered in 2016 by a man she met over the app. The chat tool was also linked to more than 1,000 child sexual abuse cases in the U.K., according to a BBC investigation. Kik CEO Ted Livingston made no reference to the app's safety concerns, only saying the app was pulling the plug following a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into the company's cryptocurrency, called Kin. I got all these creepy men messaging me and most of the time they sent masturbation videos. I asked my younger cousins about this and their response was simply "just ignore them and block them"...but like you were already exposed to their nudes so yikes??? Also I don't believe chat requests were filtered in the earlier versions of the app so whatever you got you saw. I showed my mum and she told my aunties to get my cousins off the app immediately. another great thing to decrease child sexual abuse and sexual exposure. That app was complete HELL.
