Shane's new series: The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star - October 1st

I love Shane and I’ll give it a chance but I don’t understand why we need a Jeffree video exactly. I hope it’s more centered around creating the product itself than Jeffree again. I feel as if the first series gave such an interesting and informative look into his life I’d like to see something different this time around. But I also feel like Shane knows it has to be completely different this time around so I’m not too worried.

I don't really understand the point :messga: Do people really love Jeffree that much that this is interesting to them?

If five million Americans can find it interesting to watch adults compete in an obstacle course every week on NBC's Ninja Warrior, there is no reason why people can't find it interesting to watch an androgynous millionaire say incendiary things.

Whether you like him or not, he is an interesting character.

They’ve been talking about this series for a year now so I’m not sure why people are acting brand new about it being about Jeffree. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

i think it's about their friendship and how jeffree welcomed shane into his/the beauty world and made him (a piggy) feel like a "prom queen." i shed a few tears watching this. can't wait.

I really like Shane's videos but I'd so much rather he didn't do more Jeffree Star videos. Like, they've already done a series together and Shane has some of the most unique content on YouTube right now. There's a lot more he could do...

There's only been one series? :flop:

And honestly dare I say, Jeffree is one of the most polarising figures in the YouTube world, and there's SO much hidden, that Jeffree prefers Shane to tell the story.

I thought it was like multiple hour long episodes that shane has made. Maybe i am thinking of someone else

I'm so excited! Looks like we follow Shane from the time he bought his house, through his engagement, and the whole process of creating with Jeffree to get a bigger timeline narrative. I'm looking forward to seeing some of Shane's personal life through his content rather than Ryland's. I like Ryland, but not when Ryland's in charge of the content. Also I screamed at the Tati reveal - I knew it was coming but STILL. I think we'll see Jeffree and James reunite over the Tati drama, hence why Jeffree/Nate unfollowed her not too long ago.

... Not that I follow this stuff or anything. :laughga:

Well he’s not interesting to me but i get what you’re saying!  Although, at least that ninja show (I’ve never seen it) sounds like it could be funny. I feel like this Jeffree Star thing is more comparable to a show like the Kardashians, where the camera just follows a famous person around. I’ve never understood the appeal of that type of entertainment. Unless they have something meaningful to say or something exciting to do on camera I just don’t get the appeal.

Is it only Americans that find this Jeffree/Shane collab friendship interesting? I don’t get the appeal AT ALL. They’re like the same as other YouTubers out there lmao and I don’t get the hype at all but whatever imma let y’all enjoy your things.

I like Shane’s series, but can it PLEASE be someone else besides Jefferey Star?:awkney: I’m not here for the “Jefferey is a innocent saint” campaign he can stick with his makeup reviews and being racist, and Shane should interview more people!:party:I’d love if he interviewed the OG Youtubers like Jenna Marbles, Liza, David Dobrik, Dan and Phil, Lily Singh, Nigahiga, Philip DeFranco, Pewdiepie, Smosh, and Etc!

Basically interview them on what it was like when YouTube first came out, and how they looked at it differently after it became a way to make money. Also to question them why they did it and have a look back at the evolution of their videos/careers! A nostalgia trip basically!

Not all the media we consume has to be meaningful or exciting. Escapism is fine in doses.

It's the same for Gaga's music. We can appreciate songs like "Angle Down" and "Born This Way" when she is addressing important social issues, and we can appreciate her songs about asses and dicks, like "Why Did You Do That?" and "Love Game."

To quote Diane Warren, “Not everything has to be serious all the time.”

For sure but that’s not what I was implying.

I mean I understand celebrity worship for sure :trollga:  I guess it’s more about what that celebrity has to offer. There are tons of rich people or celebrities or just successful people, LGBT or not, who could have a camera follow them but I probably wouldn’t care to watch unless I really found them interesting for some reason or another.

It’s crazy to me how many people are interested in Jeffree to the extent of watching long content about his day to day life. That’s more than just watching his videos for make-up tips, these people must genuinely love him and/or find him genuinely interesting. Or else they would get bored and not watch, right? They keep watching :gum:

I don’t get it but I don’t have to get it. Just thinking out loud.
