Fergie's The Dutchess Turns 13

The iconic pop/hip pop "The Dutchess" by miss Fergie was released 13 years ago which spawned many classics such as 

such good times with these songs for me. I was in like 1st and 2nd grade when these songs came out and I remember them always on the radio and they just remind me of simpler more fun times.

Wow I forgot how many big songs were on that album. They used to play London Bridge at all our school dances  but Clumsy and Big Girls Don't Cry were the gems

I was a freshman in high school. I was obsessed. Everyone said she made, "weird," music, and they ATE IT UP. The songs were EVERYWHERE. If I remember correctly she was the first female artist to have 5 top 5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 from one album. I remember bumping the CD in my dads Charger or my 6 disc stereo in my room 

Nearly ever song on the album was A BOP. Fergie DELIVERED with this album.

Going to listen to it today in celebration 

But for real, it was incredibly huge. It was released in 2006, and the last single was released in 2008. The way she managed to keep up her momentum all these years

I LOVED Fergie, I remember buying this CD along with the High School Musical Soundtrack in 6th grade with a Target gift card I got for my birthday   Honestly one of my best purchases

Yes the album was so good and the singles went viral but name a more iconic moment in her career :

I was too little at the time but even in 2007 I remember Big girls don’t cry BLASTING on the radio (Mexico) It was everywhere that you learnt the lyrics to it. 

Truly an ICONIC era, I remember someone here in GGD writing that in 2006 there were so many successful girls that Beyoncé was falling behind. (No drama)

I remember this album being so huge when I was first starting middle school. I was in 6th grade. I remember waiting for the bus and watching VH1/MTV music videos every morning and hoping Fergalicious would come on before I had to go to school . I also think a lot of her songs made my top 25 most played on iTunes when I first got my iPod. Such a simpler time.

I remember this. The only song that was able to break through was Irreplaceable. Fergie and Nelly Furtado had 2006/2007 on LOCK back then. Deja Vu, Ring the Alarm, Upgrade U and Get Me Bodied didnt really go anywhere. B'Day was an amazing album but it just wasn't what the GP wanted.

This was the norm back then, take your time with an album. The last time we TRULY got that was with The Fame. TFM was cut short by Born This Way and Born This Way was cut short by...well 

Still, it was a much simpler time back then for music. You didnt have streaming so a lot of people didnt know the songs until they were sent to radio.

The Fame? Hell no. Teenage Dream and 1989 had amazing longevity too.
