I think that record companies submit whatever they can

That said, I don't think ARUTW would stand a big chance because it wasn't even properly promoted as a single, they really treated is an afterthought

Did we ever think "Joanne (piano version)" would be nominated for and win Pop Solo though? It was barely promoted as a single. Sometimes when they like you, they just really like you. "ARUTW" could get nominations and maybe wins if submitted.

it's their best chance at those categories, why wouldn't they do it? these are submissions, they can submit wtv they want! people also laughed when gaga's team submitted Joanne (WDYTYG) for Best Pop Solo Performance and then not only she got nominated but also won so...

Ok, so let me predict Gaga’s Grammy submissions really quick. They are pretty basic but she does have some option.

AOTY: A Star is Born Soundtrack

SOTY: Always Remember Us This Way

ROTY: Always Remember Us This Way

Pop Solo: Always Remember Us This Way

Pop Duo: I’ll Never Love Again

Short MV: Shallow music video

Best song for visual: Always Remember Us This Way

Best Soundtrack for visual: A Star is Born Soundtrack

Those are my predictions. She will definitely get nominated and win best soundtrack for a visual medium. Also she’ll probably get nominated for AOTY. Not sure about anything else. I could see Always Remember Us This Way getting a nomination somewhere, at least one.

Tell me what y’all think

I think Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media it's a lock not only for a nomination but for a win, an AOTY nom seems really likely too and I would switch ARUTA for INLA in the Best Pop Solo Performance category. You might be right because ARUTA was indeed more successful but I think INLA really shows her vocal strength and its more of the style grammy voters want.

I honestly don't think she submited ARUTW for SOTY or ROTY, it makes no sense given how it has 0 chance of winning SOTY and 0 chance of it being nominated for ROTY.

Isn't the live version of Shallow (from the Oscars) also ellegible in some category? That would be a much safer bet.

it's only eligible in the Best Duo/Group Performance but it's really really unlikely to be nominated again when they just won that category with that song...

I didn't know it was the same category, nevermind then.

Didn't you guys also laughed when Joanne was submitted?

Then gasped when it was nominated?

Then gasped again when it won?

I don't think it's a good song that they send multiple  songs to the same category, and from what I've seen from ohter years nobody does it unless they are featured on a song and the lead singer on another

I would send ARUTW for SOTY and ARUTW for SOTY because I think that ARUTW is a perfect composition but INLA has a lot more feeling and a better performance. Anyways here is what I would submit if i has her/her team:

Album of the Year: ASIB

Song Of The Year: ARUTW

Record of the year: INLA

Best country song: Maybe It's Time (I'm not joking with this one, people liked it)

Best pop solo performance: ARUTW

Pop Dup: Diggin My Grave (or any other duet off the soundtrack, but this is my favourite)

Best song written for visual media: ARUTW or INLA tbh I don't see one having more chances than the other

Best soundtrack: ASIB

But you have to, don't you? If you don't submit, they won't even consider it.

I would rather she win AOTY for a studio album tbh. Give us SOTY for ARUTW instead even if unlikely.

Is anybody here a Grammy voter? Please find out what her label submits and where.

*disclaimer- I don't remember what the 100th new name for Sountrack of the year + Soundtrack song of the year are, so I am just going with Compilation and Song for Digital Media*

I don't think the 'Joanne' nomination/win is a fair card to pull when people question the strength or capabilities of any of the ASIB songs for this year's Awards. I think we are all reasonable enough to realize that these awards are not always given to the most deserving. LG had been screwed (3x AOTY nominee + loser, BNA ineliglibility, No 'Bad Romance' ROTY/SOTY nominations, No 'Million Reasons' SOTY/ROTY nominations, 'Til it Happens to You' loss) / lost multiple close calls (TF, TFM, BTW AOTY, BTW Pop AOTY, 'Million Reasons' Pop SOTY, 'Shallow' ROTY/SOTY) that the 'Joanne' win was most likely a case of 'overdue' and split-vote (Havanna vs. God is a Woman?) formula. If anything, that win will likely be what prevents something like an ASIB AOTY win.

If they had just sung ARUTW/INLA/ITA at *1* of the dozens of shows last season and released *1* as a proper worldwide single with radio, streaming, MV, etc., 2 weeks after the Oscars, AOTY, SOTY, ROTY, Compilation for Digital Media, and Song for Digital Media would be complete locks. Since they didn't, and the GP only really remembers 'Shallow' which they decided to release early and disallow it be nominated this year following its actual peak, having ASIB even nominated in the general fields would feel really strange. It shouldn't, since before 'Lover,' it was the best-selling album of 2019, but you can't expect to win an award in 2020 on the back of a song that was overexposed and nominated during the 2019 cycle.

When you compare the accolades received by Whitney Houston from her contributions to 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack to the ones received by LG for ASIB, it is really disheartening. Whitney deservedly received several top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, several Grammys, and several Oscars, etc. As of now, ASIB gave LG 2 things that 'Til it Happens To You' should've given her: 1 Top 10 hit, and 1 Grammy (pop Duo); the amount of work and the quality of the finished product re: ASIB should have given her a minimum of 3 top 10 hits (Shallow, ARUTW, ITA/INLA), 4 additional Grammys (AOTY, ROTY, SOTY, Pop Vocal, and a 2nd Song for Digital Media).

IN SUMMARY: I see nominations for AOTY or Pop Vocal (but not both IMO), Compilation for Digital Media, and Song for Digita Media. What would be the biggest competition in the latter two categories? From what I can think of, those 2 should be a lock, but then I remember that despite all of this hype, ASIB has really only won the awards 'Til it Happens to You' was supposed to.
