Ah yes, I forgot basic human rights have no intrinsic value if they don’t generate higher GDP #’s...

Side note: basic human rights, like women equality in the workplace and basic protection for workers, is conducive with long term economic growth; source: any intro to economic development textbook.

E.g. LGBTQIA+ citizens can’t invest their savings if they worry that they could be fired at literally any moment if their company found out about their sexuality. This holds true especially as the jobs market tightens.

Agreed but again not my point. I was not saying these protections harm the economy

What I meant us that more job oppurtunities are preferable to a bad economy with protections and if the voter believes the right winged party has a better economic plat form they may vote for them regardless

I wasnt saying this specific bad policu was good for the economy @corvus albus

What good is work protection if the economy is bad and unemployment higher? :oprah:

Regardless tho, hes such a horrible human being I cant fathom how ppl can actually vote for someone like trump

But im saying ppl can have other considerations when voting besides gay rights. If ppl were voting on that alone no openly gay person would support the conservatives

But its ok to have other considerations in politics. Politics isnt exclusively just about LGBT despite what GGD members sometimes act like

But yeah Trump is a horrible person and politician in general. I dont understand anyone who supports him unless ur a white person in the top 1% who he caters too

Even a lot of rich white males dont support trump cuz they have the decency to acknowledge that the stuff he stands for is just ethically wrong

Wow of course the straight person would look at an article about legalizing Gay Discrimination and say it doesn’t matter because of hypotheticals

I am so done with you and your daily threads on here.

By creating a policy that directly targets LGBTQ?

Didn't Trump boast about how great the economic stats of the US? There is no other way than to interpret this as a direct attack on millions of humans but certainly not an outlier among his policies. If you dare to call yourself centrist but don't vote for the democratic party because EcoNyMY then you're just as reprehensible as Trump (I know that you're Canadian I'm speaking in broad terms). If you stand by a party that commits several crimes against humanity and its own citizens then "the economy might go bad and then we need them" doesn't fly. If people should value the freedom in the US you should give the citizens the freedom and not put them in a metaphorical cage of anxiety, stress and depression for your own selfish reasons.

This is the last time I speak to you about this. I made my point clear and as long as you can't live with a humane economy for all people I'm done every talking to you about this.

@Rainbow1 and I had a thread and discussion weeks ago it gained no traction at all on here because the title mentioned Trans people. Surprise surprise GGD...

October 8 is when SCOTUS will announce their verdict. I have no hope for the future.

I'm sorry to hear that. I try to be as inclusive to the entire LGBTQ community as possible. I know that trans and non binary people have it way harder and will sadly be the first, because most obvious, to be punished by this.

What good is a good economy and employment if you are going to get fired for being who you are? Imagine if this was against all black people...Stating that you could be fired just for being black. Same thing.

This is a violation of basic human rights.

There is no reason you can’t have both- Basic human rights and a good economy. It isn’t an either-or proposition.

#1 im not straight

#2 where in the hell did I ever say this is ok or doesnt matter? Please quote where I ever said that :oprah:

Ppl in GGD really need to work on not getting triggered so fast and jumping instantly on statements so fast that u totally end up missing the whole point of what is actually being said

I never said I think this is ok, I never said I agreed with this at all

I was merely pointing out the reasoning some people might have for voting for Trump even if they are gay. If they put the economy first and they buy his stupid retorics they may think a strong economy is worth any downsides to freedoms

This isnt even my opinion, im speaking from another point of view when I replied to the user who asked how someone in that position could vote for him

Im sorry if I wasnt fully lear. But yall sreiously really need to take a chill pill :madge:

You too @Whispering  @corvus albus

I find half the time ppl on GGD when they jump on u they are arguing a point that has nothing to do with what u were actually even saying :rip:

EDIT: I edited the innial reply to clarify what I meant. Hopefully that should prevent any future confusion :)

I don’t claim to speak for everyone here so don’t broadly claim the people get triggered way too fast when I have a personal issue with you.

Respect is earned not freely given. I don’t have to give you any. You’re on here DAILY making threads playing Devil’s Advocate all the time. It’s annoying. You love a roundabout argument going nowhere. “We have to listen to people that want to have us dead~ uwu”

He does this everyday. He quotes other people’s opinions and like never his own...so confusing us all and then it’s like a thread topic everyday...like gurl find an actual political forum where you can upvote/downvote opinions i.e. go to reddit

I am tired and sorry if it’s rude but I’ve been bottling this up for a long ass time
