Yeah. I wouldn't say "overpopulated", but from my experience growing up there, I would (at first glance) definitely say it is very decently populated.

That said, I'm guessing the issue isn't solely on overall population as much as it is the age distribution of population. Large-scale systemic factors of cultural attitude regarding work and gender roles, the effect of military presence, and many many other factors contribute.
