If we want to beat Trump we need Warren or Sanders. Joe Biden would most likely ensure a second term for Trump :saladga:

What the... is she serious? “Vote for my husband even if other people’s policies are better” like, how many brain cells does she have? Why I’m the world would we vote for someone who’s policies are sh*t when there are better alternatives? Like WAY better alternatives? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I cant deal with people’s ignorance anymore & to think she’s a dem... a joke. Like it doesn’t matter that he’s the lead in the polls, like the article says Sanders, Warren or Harris could easily beat Trump. Either way, I’m not voting for someone just because I think they’ll win this time around because it clearly didn’t work last time & if my vote is gonna go to someone it’ll be because I agree with their policies, not because they look promising. Biden won’t do sh*t for public healthcare, min wage increases, prison reform, LGBT rights or equal rights in general. Seriously, I used to like him but he’s really shown how under qualified & basically useless he’ll be in office during this race.

Would you vote for him over Trump though?

I honestly don’t know... I voted for Hillary cause I thought she’d win, not because she was my first choice & I really don’t wanna just blow my vote on someone I don’t believe deserves it but I also don’t want to not vote & allow someone who really doesn’t deserve it win again... I’ll most likely be voting for whoever goes against trump for the democratic bid but hopefully it’ll be someone I actually want as president

I mean, that’s what we all want. Personally, I would love either Sanders or Warren to get the nomination, but if it comes down to someone like Biden, I’m voting him in a heartbeat. Maybe it’s because I don’t have this fanatic hate for him like others do (don’t get me wrong, I think there are plenty of other, much better candidates), but I just think people with that kind of rhetoric need to understand that we NEED to vote Democrat in 2020.

I’m not siding with his wife’s comments because she’s ultimately telling people to just throw the primaries away, but I think when it comes to the nomination, she’s right. Even if the Dem nomination isn’t someone we voted for in the primaries, the alternative is having Trump for 4 more years.

Well, like I said. I’ll most likely vote for whoever wins the democratic nomination like I did last election. I just hope we don’t get stuck in the same situation where people don’t wanna vote for either candidates. I don’t “hate” Biden but I’m definitely no longer a fan of his after seeing him on the campaign trail which is unfortunate because I honestly had high hopes for him but his policies are just too conservative. You can tell his policies revolve around the people backing him with money & what they want instead of what the people want which is the main issue we have with elections nowadays. Everyone is backed by these huge corporations & million/billionaires who are calling the shots behind the scenes which is why I’m thankful for AOC & how often she calls them out.

I really hate it when I see people treating politics like a game. Healthcare is an issue of life or death for thousands of people, so the question of "Who's got the best healthcare plan?" isn't some divisive team spitting nitpicking. Frankly most political issues matter deeply to people because the policies built around them will decide on the quality of life of those effected. I don't know how rhetoric that asks people to sacrifice their own well being for the sake of "electability" became so common place when it's such obvious nonsense.

This is the bottom line!

I would vote for ANY of the Democratic choices over Trump!

The top five have been the top five all along. I imagine the nominee (and probably the VP on the ticket) will come from these top five. Any combination of these top five will be a million times better than what we have now.

And I absolutely understand that. Trust me, Biden is not my first, second, or third or even fourth choice.

I will say though, that I don't think this'll turn out to be a "Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump" situation where people end up hating both candidates. Biden is still loved by a lot of people, and I'll be completely honest, the only people that I think really hate him (not saying you do) are people who want more progessive candidates like Warren or Sanders to win.

My mother, for example, who is very conservative and definitely  considers herself a Republican says that the only way she might vote Dem is if Biden is the nominee. I'm not saying everyone out there is like my mother, but I think there is some validity to her opinion.

We still have a long way until the nomination, but I think that generally speaking a lot of people like him. There's a reason why he's still leading a lot of the polls.

Yeah... he’s definitely turned out to be more conservative than I’d originally thought which I’m sure speaks to your mother’s opinion. I have quite a few conservative family members, basically all of them except my mom (she doesn’t know what’s going on lmao she just listens to me so I’m hoping to get her to vote dem) that are leaning towards voting for him because his views are still agreeable with dems while being conservative enough for republicans. I would like Bernie or Warren though I don’t think we’ll have a female president this time around unfortunately just based on a recent study that says gender equality most likely won’t come to fruition for another 108 years or so. But, I’m def keeping my hopes up.
