SKANK 14,288
There is a snobbishness about "dance pop" that lingers from the Disco Sucks era. People seem to think dance music is frivolous, and not worth accolades. Gaga disproved that, as have tons of other incredible EDM artists. Personally I don't care what genre LG6 is, or if it's a well streamed album. I just want her to have something to say, and have a well executed vision. illySpencer 1,434
Now some LM spit on the soup with GaGa's half first years debuts... INBELIEVABLE ! I remind you it's because she did pop music that you know her, without it, you would never have known her, so stop complaigning, awards and grammys never made a career, neither have a good voice. GaGa's character and pop music made her. Period. If you spit, that is meaning that you never understood who is she/was.

yxi 4,999
She should do an album with Röyksopp, it won't be generic trash but still dancey.

The Carpenters 309
I genuinely hope she does whatever she wants. Even with Joanne it seemed like she wanted to go further in one direction and then felt she had to add pop. I think if she goes full force she will be happy and it would be most successful. If you think the backlash against ARTPOP was bad, look at how people reacted to Madonna’s Sex book. That was a true backlash.
Mr S 8,672
She definitely cannot do another Joanne/ASIB type music otherwise she would jsut be a sell out like Pink. It doesn't necessarily have to be dance pop, but it MUST be progressive, edgy, inventive, etc. No pandering to middle america. From you clips, both are great but she already tried the Sting clip with Joanne and look how that turned out.

Because dance pop is very much true to her? You don’t know what she wants to do, for all we know from the interviews her favorites genres are jazz and rock. HorusRa2 5,005
May I remind you that Kylie Minogue exists & now that Gaga has nothing left to PROVE, if she wants to make fun dance bops she can and should??!!!!

Ziggy 11,792
as long as she gave herself the space to work on it properly she’ll be fine, genre regardless. The gays are all back on board again and shes officially a mainstay of pop culture. just please no more Joanne or ASIB, acoustic rock folk music. I really really love both but yet another album of it would just feel tired imo. So whatever she does she has to change it up a bit from the last few years. Other than that I don’t care what she does

Did she not straight up give up on making her alt-rock singer songwriter music back when she was 20 so she could make it big- Y'all are delusional to think her original or most genuine artistry are dance pop songs like The Fame, Monster, Judas... we all know her most honest form lays in piano ballads such as Speechless, You and I, Just Another Day, etc. (hence why all these are self written...). Some of her most recent acoustic work from Joanne and ASIB sound like her work as Stefani, not the manufactured electronic dance pop that define her first four solo albums. Not to hate on those albums or their authenticity, as I truly think she likes to experiment, but even she herself has commented on how lost she feels when she doesn’t create music at the piano and from the heart (in an interview back in like 2014), basically calling ARTPOP her lowest/least relatable piece of work because most of those songs are her laying vocals on pre made tracks.
