malazam 15,710 Posted August 8, 2019 Share Posted August 8, 2019 After the increase in violence in some of Uruguay's neighborhoods USA's embassy has leveled from 1 (normal) precaution to 2 (major) to the travellers. After that, in the next 24 hours, the United States suffered 4 shootings leaving more than 40 dead. Uruguay responds asking the population travelling thee to avoid mass people places such as schools, malls, parks, and other places due to increase of gun violence in the USA. Venezuela follows up the statement and Japan as well. Uruguay is in the middle of a presidential election campaign. This is, sadly, a clearly move from the conservative parties getting help from the USA gov to win the election. In the past, the United States, have manipulated South American countries til the point of endorsing dictatorships. This averages out to 1.2 shootings per day. In these shootings, 979 people were injured and 246 died (for a total of 1,325 victims). This is from wiki and from an outsider perspective I'm kinda scared to come to the US even for tourist visit! The racism and current xenophobic attitude scares me!
