This has to stop. Please people do something. Organize mass protests, heckle the lawmakers, annoy tf out of them till they take action. This cannot go on endlessly. And what a horrible time for the family who lost both their son and daughter, son killed by law enforcement for being a terrorist and daughter killed by their own son. Not to mention the families of those other 8 people who lost their lives to another senseless gun tragedy. The manifesto literally used the language, sometimes words directly lifted from other hate propagandists. The pastor of my church was really upset about the shootings, as am I. I can see why millennials are scratching their head and wondering why congress doesnβt do something sane like, you know, make assault weapons illegal. Actually, congress did, back in 1994, and right wing voters must had decided this meant them evil liburals were going to take away their guns, because they responded by giving congress to Republicans and serial adulterer Newt Gingrich. The NRA was an incredibly powerful, one of the most powerful (if not the most powerful) lobbying forces back then, and you had to be in the bluest of blue districts to not have your political career end if you upset them. The only way we can make this nonsense stop is to have as many as possible vote straight ticket Democrat. Last time I voted, I voted for Democrats completely across the board. Even with judges, I looked up who appointed the judge. If the judge was appointed by a Republican, no matter how moderate, I voted to kick them out. I suggest anyone and everyone reading this do the same. As long as Republican party as it exists today has any power, this nonsense will continue.
