I was away the whole day, heard about it only now,  this is crazy, it can't go on like this anymore

We point fingers to Trump but honestly, it's not like the problem started with him, only a new reason for the shootings, the white supremacy, but the shootings existed even before and both Democrats and Republicans did nothing to prevent it.

Feinstein, who wrote the 1994 AWB, just released a statement about the shooting and called for another AWB.

“This must stop, and the only way we can lower these numbers of shootings is through legislation. We need to tighten background checks and close loopholes that let anyone buy a gun online or at a gun show. We need more states with extreme-risk laws that allow loved ones and law enforcement to remove guns from dangerous individuals. And above all we need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines to start drying up the supply. When we passed a federal assault weapons ban in 1994, the number of mass shootings dropped. A study in Boston found 72 percent fewer assault weapons recovered by police during the ban, and a Justice Department study showed 70 percent fewer assault weapons were used in crimes."

All of this information is available for free on Al Gore's internet and yet you still want to act foolish!!!

Not everyone is from the US and we all frustrated by the shootings and what I see and remember is that still after many shootings that both republicans and democrats were in the government in the last 10+ years nothing has been done, it’s still going on.

So no need to go personal really, learn to debate with people properly please.

This doesn’t need to turn into “everybody in Texas hates immigrants or is racist” - this is about radicalism. Radicalism exist everywhere. We cannot let radicalism represent the state of Texas. That’s like letting radicalism represent Islam.

I had a lil argument with someone on reddit about this, his response was

"I carry to protect myself in a direct attack. I’m not gonna try and be a sheepdog and play gunfight at the ok corral."

Which basically crumbles most of their 2nd amendments talking points, they always say "if you ban weapons/if you have gun-free zones, then theres noone to defend you from maniacs", but if noone has the guts to grab their guns and fire back at the terrorsist THEN WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING WEAPONS???

This. Americans go on about the right to bear arms and so they can protect themselves but in these mass shootings how many of the people that casually carry a gun have fired back at the shooter and exercised the 2nd amendment that they preach about...

The 2nd amendment was written in the 18th century.  It needs a big fat update! And I really can't see how tighter gun-laws and more security for owning a gun will interfere with it? If you fill the critera then you can buy a gun. As simple as that. In Sweden you have to have a weapon's licence to own a gun which is issued by the police.
