Is gaga ashamed of ARTPOP?

I think she's more learning how to incorporate the album into her tours now. She has a lot of material and she probably thinks ARTPOP didn't resonate as much as her other music did. I would have been super happy to see Venus on Enigma's setlist as it fits the "out of this world" theme. If Troy & her didn't part ways I think the album would have obviously went as plan and monsters would have peace to leave the era behind. I think the album deserves justice still and she should release the content she had lined up such as a visual album for ARTPOP, and the release of ACT II online somehow. It's still one of my favourite Gaga albums, and gives me major nostalgia looking back and listening to it.

I dont think she is ashamed per say, as she has performed songs since then. But in saying that, it was a mess looking back.

She suffered overexposure in the latter stages of the previous era and her hip knocked her out of the public eye all together to a degree. She staged a pretty rushed and poor comeback for a concept that could have been amazing. She was in a bad place that entire era between the backlash, insufferable personality she began to adopt as a defense imo and her own addictions, and then almost quit the game entirely if not for Tony Bennett.

I think she's more inclined to dip into it from time to time rather than fully revist it due to it being such a depressing, messy and angry time for her. Plus, the era will now always have R. Kelly attached to it which could be another factor she wants to leave behind as she worked with a known abuser.

ARTPOP Is the most solid Gaga album in my opinion. Like the songs are almost all good, but it lacks the powerful hitting songs from her first albums, so it results with a generally fun album with no standout tracks!! I think she acknowledges the album is not a memorable one in her back catalogue for casual fans and that's why she doesn't bring those songs aroundz since enigma is basically a celebration of her career for the general public. Yeah maybe youre right that she has negative memories from the era, too.

Not at all.

She performs Aura at Enigma as well doesnt she? She probably just struggles with how to incorporate it into setlists because shes aware it didn't resonate with most audiences aside from hardcore stans.

I thought she was during Joanne era. But when she brought back deep cuts I think she shows love from a distance.

I think so. I remember she went on Ellen during the ARTPOP era and she was talking about the album’s meaning and she was like “yea idk if you ever need a pick me up...” and she never talks about her albums like that. It seemed like she was kinda trying to forget about it or something

As many others have already said, I don’t think she hates it, there are just too many bad memories attached to it.
