I know I've posted this before, but I don't remember the answer: What do people mean when then ask for a "studio version" of a live performance? I don't get it.

It means an instrumental remake of the performance with the album recorded vocals. In this case he wants that but with the live vocals.

It's just an instrumental of the performance with the album vocals, it's not that hard of understand, why are you confused :toofunny:

A. Why would anyone want that?

B. If it also has the live vocals, then how does it fit this idea? (Yeah, I know, no crowd noise (good luck with that). Still makes no sense to me.)

A. You would be surprised, this is a very hardcore community here that likes to hear the instrumentation of Gaga's live performances.

each and every single live performance is different from the rest in small ways (occasionally large ways) and to a diehard collector or remixer or musician here, a new instrumental of a live performance can be the perfect start to a new remix, or a background for a cover, or in my personal case, a nice new thing to listen to. That's why people want these things, it's for pleasure.

B. Basically what they mean by a 'studio' version, is a version without the crowd noise, whoops, hollerings, screams, and claps.

Essentially the closest thing we usually ever get to a 'studio' version of a live performance is a filtered version if we are lucky, or if we are even luckier we might get what is called a mic feed or a 5 or 6 way audio split (Dolby Sound) that the television networks record and broadcast in. The mics are hooked up to Gaga and sometimes to the musicians or background track(s), so the sound is nicely audience-free and can be heard as if you were there with no audience.

Hope that clears the confusion!
