Extremely gifted actress don't get me wrong, but I really wish it had been a drag queen instead. Especially considering the role was based on and intended for Divine, but she sadly passed away before she got record her part.

OT: I'm interested to see where this goes but I'm more interested in seeing how Ariel is interpreted and portrayed.  There are so many ways this film can be modernized and reinterpreted in relation to the setting and film. I really hope it takes on a historical approach and makes it seem more than just the typical Disney remake. I'm really looking forward to hearing Halle sing too!

Melissa McCarthy is a cisgendered white woman though...

Also, Ursula was inspired  by a drag queen. She herself isn't a drag queen, so it doesn't make sense to say that it was "written and intended for a drag queen anyway".
