Sigh. I hope you have the same rage towards anyone who works with Apple and Nike, because those companies are just as bad if not worse than Amazon and yet half their spokespeople are also very much into self empowerment and being inclusive. We can even add Target and Walmart to that list, especially Walmart.  Life is complicated and half of the big companies are ugly AF.

Guess what...it's possible to be critical towards Amazon and even gasp be disappointed that people work with them....and consider the context that they are the biggest online retailers, have their hands in pretty much everything, and not act like Gaga is some horrendous person for working with them. Working with Amazon ain't like working with R. Kelly. People are so d*mn hyperbolic with the praise AND the criticism sometimes.

Gaga could've used BeautyBay, Sephora or any other big online makeup retailer. WHY Amazon and then preach about kindness when you're aligning yourself with a company that has killed their employees literally by overworking them? Do their lives not matter because they're POC and not screaming gay white twinks? Answer me that LilyLark. As far as I'm concerned, both Apple and Nike have worked towards improving their human rights record whereas Amazon hasn't.

Reports of Amazon treating their employees that borders on human rights abuse says otherwise. Just do your research sis. It just makes the whole message of empowerment and Gaga's brand of kindness look contrived. The company you align yourself with is very telling of your own brand's mantra.

You’re gonna kinda need to site your sources.

Why do y'all make everything about race... I swear you are tiring AF. Thinking Gaga is somewhat racist is just plain stupid and dumb tbh. I understand were you are coming from, if Amazon is really that terrible of a companu then of course your opinion is 100% understandable, but is not about race.

Literally Google it sis. There are thousand of sources. Here's just one where they literally had to bring out ambulances because of the way they treated their workers:

You sound incredibly white. Have you ever thought about why POC always bring their race into the equation? Maybe if you walked in their shoes or understood what it feels like being excluded because of your ethnicity, you'd understand.

Yeah I could’ve easily googled sources. But realistically you’re the one making these claims and you’re gonna have to back up what you’re trying to convince us with. It’s like writing a paper, you can’t just say **** without backing up your statements. Just just saying something doesn’t mean anything sis.

anyways being overworked sucks. But most of these are in first world countries. Im not sure if Amazon operates in third world countries. Being overworked sucks and I have friends who work at Amazon as delivery people that complain about it but a lot of them are contract based and they were in agreement to what they signed up for with their jobs. As shitty as that sounds they consented to that. With Consent and contractual work, there’s nothing that can be done if both parties are in agreement especially if contractually they consented to hours. Then there’s the whole bit about freelance work as well which I think some do.

“One of the worst human rights track records”

whaaattt? So many major corporations literally use slave and child labor. This is happening as we speak. Amazon shipment facilities are based in 1st world countries and the protests are based on being overworked. Yeah, that sucks but saying they have the worst human rights track record is far too dramatic for me this morning. They’re still getting paid for those hours which is better than being jobless. Especially because, at least here at the shipment centers in Minnesota, If any of those employees were fired because of not meeting quotas due to being overworked, they would have grounds to receive unemployment benefits.

Why bring race into the Amazon issue? It has nothing to do about race. Workers' rights? Yes. Race? No.

Workers protesting against hours and pay is nothing new. Neither is it isolated to one single company.

I'm looking at the UK allegations and they include lack of action on sexual harassment, unsafe working conditions and warehouse managers dismissing employees' concerns and problems. SOURCE (I cannot speak to the US issue as I don't have a full understanding of the issue nor on how US federal and national labour laws work)

Looking at those problems that describes places I have worked at (more than one).

If you want to be high and mighty about working conditions then you cannot step foot in most stores. Also most clothing companies do not have proper working conditions. H&M has multiple times been reported for failing to ensure fair wages for factory workers. A lot of clothing is also manufactured in India and Bangladesh where child labour is common. SOURCE

Nike literally uses sweat shops in Hansae  (yes, Knight pledged to clean Nike's rep up and then they gasp went back to using sweat shops in the late 00s) and Apple STILL has horrendous working conditions in China. As bad as the situation is in the UK and the US with Amazon, it's nothing compared to the **** that went on with Apple in China. So maybe you ought to educate yourself a bit more before screaming off into the abyss about how Nike has bettered itself. Sis you ain't the only one who knows about about working conditions and companies around the world.

And I'm a WOC with immigrant parents, but suuurre I only care about white twinks. But ssrly, assuming everyone on here is some clueless racist is dumb—and this is coming from someone who has called out posters for their racism plenty of times. It's possible to think all of the companies suck and yet acknowledge that nearly every company is bad (guess what, capitalism is often very ugly). Are you going to rage about Colin Kaepernick, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, SZA, Drew Barrymore, Bono, Ronaldo, and more? Most of whom use the same message of inclusiveness?

Guess what...every time you use a paper towel you are probably putting more coins to the Koch brothers. My point remains the same: life is ugly and you are going to have to cancel a sh*tload of people and stop using a lot of products if you want to remain "pure." It's possible to be disappointed and yet refrain from being so hyperbolic. What you can do is write to your representatives, if you are in the US, or politicians in other countries and hope they hold big companies accountable to the laws and or do away with loopholes.

Not gonna lie, I think it'll flop and the reviews will be pretty bad. That's my feeling and I hope I'm wrong.
