misunderstood 8,736
What do you love about ARTPOP? ARTPOP to me was treated so badly, listening to the album again I still have the same feeling. It will forever have a special place in my heart. I love you ARTPOP and you deserved better. 2School4Cool 6,449
ARTPOP will always be a breath of fresh air for me. In a world of cookie cutter pop, ARTPOP stood out and didn’t fit the norm. It might not have been her most critically or commercially successful album but she put so much work into it and it has so many fan favorites and hidden gems that I adore. Plus, Gypsy is one of my favorite Gaga songs, and the artRAVE was my first Gaga concert, so I have a soft spot for that era as a whole. derpmonster 22,412
I posted this earlier today in my group (see signature): How is ARTPOP such a masterpiece? 😭 It pierces my soul, makes me live what I've never experienced, makes me long for something I never had, makes me dance but with the intense redeeming pain that's in every little riff, every chord resolution, every moment of dissonance, every addition to the chaos. I never liked electronic or dance music. ARTPOP freed my mind. And stopped my heart. I try to sell myself but I am really laughing Cause I just love the music, not the bling. KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
ARTPOP is such a great album. I love it dearly and I remember hearing Gypsy for the first time and that song made me feel so powerful and energetic. I know Do What U Want might have some sexual meaning, since its associated with that trash, but its still my favorite song off the album. The message that Gaga, only Gaga, brought to the song tells the real story of how celebrities are supposed to feel. You can say whatever you want, but that won't stop them doing what they want, they cannot stop the talent Gaga has brought us for 10 years and they can't tear down her life, since they don't own it. Such a great message. ARTPOP is such a banger and deserved well more than it got.

xoxoJohnnyGaga 284
ARTPOP is such an incredible album and I have so many amazing memories from that era as I do with each era! Both ARTPOP and the artRAVE were something truly special!
IAmNotHere1997 25,824
Was this thread worthy though? I'm pretty sure 1/3 users from here thinks ARTPOP is Gaga's best album and era.
petr29 0
I love ARTPOP but yea, the demos and lives performances have more of that ARTPOP soul than the album itself but it was a great journey to me this era, and I recommend you this rework by a user on souncloud named NATUREART called ARTPOP: The Original, it is a good work to rediscover ARTPOP, hope you like it... https://soundcloud.com/nature-art/ARTPOP-the-original-out-now
Didymus 34,380
I don't think it's a great pop album but I definitely enjoy it, and actually a lot more than I did in 2013 Everytime I listen to it now I'm kind of bowled over by the different soundscapes and how her descriptions of it actually really work (about different types of adrenaline hitting you in the face throughout the tracklist) It's a great album experience and I find it extremely interesting from a lyrical point of view as there seem to be many hidden statements about identity she makes throughout the songs. As she said herself: there's a hidden story in the album that's there for investigating fans to find out, and, forgive me, but I think I cracked that code and that makes me so happy Also, that title track is ****ing epic It's so weird and fabulous. That and Fashion! are definitely my favorites. Very underrated album/era as it turns out, even though it was also, at times, very very bad
