The Carpenters 309
To me the BTWB capped an end to a Gaga that doesn’t exist anymore. I love her even more now but I’m so curious what things would be like if it didn’t end the way it did. If she could have finished the tour on a high note. Would ARTPOP have been released in a completely different way directly after the tour? What would that mean for her career? Would she be happy? What music and videos would exist in this alternative universe? What type of music would she be playing today? What do you guys think?

Damon 10,904
lowkey think she already had the concept for ARTPOP during the btwball era but it would have been completely different, it was created from all the pain and suffering she got from cancelling the tour and struggling with her management team ... and now i just sit in silence. Sneaky Oliver 22,236
What scenario are we talking about here? If she didn’t have an illness so she could finish the tour or if she kept overworking and traumatizing her body until the very last date?
JazzGa 14,623
If the BTWB went perfectly smoothly , then I suppose her team would have continued on with the original vision for ARTPOP: some sort of "Disney Princess high" themed party glam album. More tracks like Donatella and MANiCURE. Honestly that sounds contrived and childish compared to the real emotions we got from DWUW, Gypsy, Dope/IWBWU, etc. Beautiful art is created from a place of pain, bittersweet as that is. Of course I’m not saying she should have worked herself beyond her boundaries, but being overworked almost felt like her shtick back then. She would talk about it a lot. How much she loved working and being on tour. I’m so glad she found her happy spot where she is more comfortable.
Tyler1992 2,265
I think Gaga went over what she was capable of and was a good learning experience to what she could handle. I’m afraid if she finished the BTWB she would have continued to be overworked and her life today might be much different for the worse. She might have continued to be overworked and the consequences might have been much worse. She needed to learn that she needs to slow down and take breaks for herself. She also might not of stopped working with Troy and continued on being worked like an object and not a human. She found out who is there for her wellbeing and not for the money she makes. She also might not have pivoted into the career she has today and may have seen her career die out.
Twitter 14
@SAGA I know exactly what would’ve happen: 1. Gaga would have filmed the BTWB at NYC shows. DVD includes a snippet of the ARTPOP lead single (most likely to be Aura or Burqa). Aura would’ve been added to the setlist for the final dates and have “Judas-like” choreography. 2. ARTPOP lead (Aura/Burqa) would have been released in March 2013 with it charting #5-15 on BBH100. The next single in June 2013. The album would have came in August 2013. Brooklyn Nights would’ve been on the album and not DWUW. 3. ARTPOP’s music is less polished and sound similar to the songs at the iTunes Festival. Artrave tour begins in December 2013 but Gaga is forced to cancel after 10 shows due to her hip injury. 4. Clinicians would informed Gaga she will unable to perform again. Gaga falls into depression for 3 years. She finds a spark and decides to do C2C in 2016. And does Joanne in 2017. She doesn’t do Coachella or the SuperBowl instead JWT starts earlier but is a ballad world tour which has less dates. 5. Enigma would’ve more Jazz & Piano of all Gaga’s hits and would have been extremely successful as the Enigma we have today.
27monster27 13,657
Lady Gaga said that the ARTPOP era would have started in April of 2013, three weeks after the original end of the tour to be exact, back in January or February of that year. Although, I do not know if the wait until April had anything to do with her hip or not. he/him/his

The album she presented to them was most likely not what we were given. Hence, the app was supposed to have that content. Lots of tracks that seemed to be written earlier did not see the light of day, pretty much half an album.
