The American judicial system ladies and gentleman That's not a proper representation 6 months would be the very very low end of the spectrum for rape and 20 years is the very high end of the spectrum for simmilar crimes that involve some kind of product tampering which is the category this was put as Most rapists will not get only 6 months if convicted (especially if it was full out rape) and this girl is not getting the max 20 years that would typically be reserved for a company messing with products on a large scale This girl will probably get the minimum 2 years and if she's eligible for parole she will be out even sooner

homomo 23,883
Okay. First of all, this is honestly no different than someone coughing around a deli counter. Like, it doesn't matter if you lick the food or cough on it; the same germs will still be on the food. Yeah, you shouldn't go around licking food and putting it back, but even kids take bites of candy, or open food in stores and put it back. Secondly, 20 years is ****ing crazy, let alone any jail time or fine. Like, I feel she should just be banned from that shop if anything. I'm sorry, but the fact this is being treated more seriously than hate crimes, rape, murders, etc truly shows whats wrong with our law systems. They only favour the rich and elite. Imagine her stepping into prison, and her cell mate is like "what brought you in here", and she's like, "i opened icecream in the shop, licked it, and put it back. I'll be your bunk mate for the next 20 years" Like what 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111

Yeah, but just look at the imitations of it already... I think they need to set an example before more people try to jump on this train thinking they are funny. Judas18 485
I think even 2 years is a bit too much. I think an appropriate punishment in this case would be licking horse feces. She will finally learn what disgusting means.
LGMonster95 13,704
I've seen stuff when I was at high school a lot more triggering than this, in fact when I was like 14 years old someone pushed me and a piece of glass got stuck into my leg, I went to hospital, I could not walk properly for weeks and guess what was the punishment for that person who pushed me? They just lowerd his grades for his behavior, that's all. Yes what she did was disgusting but that punishment is a bit too much
Guest
What do they expect her to do in jail for 20 years? You spend decades in jail to think about what u did, hopefully shift ur perspective on life/yourself/your actions, right and wrong or realize that you deserve to be in a cage bcs u have caused pain and suffering out there in the real world. What is she gonna do? Two days is enough for her to think damn i shouldnt have done that, it's not hygenic. 20 years (or is it two years?), even two years is a crazy amount of time to think about this immature action. It's not deadly, it won't cause permanent damage, suffering to others, nobody died, let' s get serious for a moment. American can be a scary place, wild wild west around here

She will probably get 2 and even less if she gets out on parole Also she wouldn't be going to a maximum security prison. She'd be going to lower prisons where other people who are in there are also there for minnor things too

MonsterMom 12,647
Let this be a lesson to you. Don’t come to Texas and try to lick our ice cream. We don’t f**k around
nodandsmile 11,725
I want her to be punished so that she'll learn from it but 20 years? Whew! I saw a video on twitter but instead of licking, he put his fingers in it. People would do anything and everything to go viral these days to the point they'll film themselves doing something bad and snitch on themselves in the process

Sorry but people's marks should be purely based on academic performance they shouldn't be tampering with it for other stuff Something like that should be detentions, or community service or perhaps even some summer house arrest for assault Grades tho?
