"It seems we're again in a crusade to destroy a man image only because he's a man and there's a woman against him."

YOU think that. Stop making men out to be some oppressed group. Because that ain't it. Scooter is actually making fun of this be posting and then deleting posts...

Anyway, there's more to this than we know. I don't think using Sia as an example of protecting Scooter's character is much to go on because I doubt she lives and breathes his own intentions in the industry.

That's not only what I think, that's what the situation really is. And when I say "we", I'm basically saying feminists and gays. We're men. We're gays but we're also men. Some gays act like they owe women something, like women always support us, when we know there are as many homophobic women out there as men.

Let’s be honest. Taylor’s entire career has been based off of playing the victim. Scooter MAY be a jerk but he made a smart business decision that any other smart business person would make, and unfortunately it exposed (yet again, for the umpteenth time) Taylor’s tactics :trollga: :bye:

What scooter did is more of a revengeful tactic to boost his ego than it is business, let's be real.

As gross as some T-Swift fans have been about the situation, there are a few things I think that should be considered, one being that Taylor's discography makes up almost most of the label. If Scooter didn't think this way he wouldn't have literally cracked jokes about it on Instagram (re-posting that ugly thing about "buying Taylor Swift) and almost immediately deleted it upon the backlash.

Additionally, if the details are true, then Taylor was offered a pretty unfair deal. A lot of people talk about this from a negative standpoint, but we know the tune of this site would be almost an entire 360 if Gaga was in this position and Troy Carter bought her Masters, or (not likely) Rob Fusari.

Spoiler

We joke about the software people tour and the quick money with Enigma and Jazz & Piano, but who knows what's going on behind closed doors? For all we know, Gaga could be getting that money for the intention of owning 100% of her songs, which we know she doesn't have at the moment.

And this doen't even bring upon question of Scooter's ethics. I think the grating thing (to me at least) with these celebs and clients coming out to support him is that Scooter has had a pretty awful reputation with treating his clients. Let's not forget that Ariana split from him back in late 2015 because of creative control issues and being "neglected" in favor of Justin Bieber. These are the same concerns that Gaga had near the termination of her relationship with Troy Carter. Sure she got back with him the following year, but is she really even happy at the moment? She is without a doubt over-worked and over-booked with her tour even though she has voiced her opinion on touring several times. He's also made incredibly horrible comments defending Justin Bieber's gross actions in the past and has been accused of encouraging provocative behavior in the past. It wouldn't be out of character for him to do this out of spite whilst making a smart business decision.

All in all it's very complex and I don't think it's black and white. But we should consider the state of the music industry and how often artists are treated unfairly in music, particularly when it comes to Masters and owning their art. Scooter has a reputation and I'm not entirely surprised that there is backlash about something like this.

What i don’t understand is why this drama is centered around taylor when she’s not the only artist involved. Also, a contract is a contract, so why should she be ‘freed’ of a contract? Yes she was 15. She didn’t have parents and a family guiding her?

Yes, legally he did nothing wrong, but either way Scooter IS taking advantage of the situation and is not doing it gracefully. BM was basically Taylor’s music, he knew exactly what he was doing when he inked the deal. He shared a post saying he “owned/bought Taylor Swift” ,and has been republishing her albums onstreaming platforms just to make a quick moneyoff of her work. At the end of the day he’s still a powerful executive benefiting from something he did not create. He doesn't even have any working relationship with Taylor but will earn cash from her? Its just not entirely ethical, even if the real villain here is Big Machine.

that being said, Taylor cannot complain because she DID sign her rights away. Yes she was 15, and yes this is the traditional contract in the music business, but she did agreed to it, and even made a statement saying she was at piece with leaving her masters behind. She’s just pissed at WHO owns them

I don't think either side is right

Taylor Swift needs to stop playing the victim card and painting herself into these narratives. She has you all feeling sorry for her while she wipes her tears with hundred dollar bills and schemes and plots.

She supposedly knew beforehand and if she had already made the decision to leave her music behind when she left the label like she said, why do you all feel bad for her?

She an evil and manipulative person :applause:

Exactly. This was part of the plan all along. Yet once again she gets to play the victim.

Since when can 15 year olds enter into contracts? Strange isn’t it?

Mister G

Trend I’m noticing is that a lot of female artists are having these problems. I could be wrong but I haven’t heard of a male artist going through the same problem.

You are half right. Her parents are evil and manipulative. But she was complicit in all of this.

I don't want to take sides since I didn't do my research and I don't think I even will. This drama could have been easily solved in private.

I also find it really weird how people have made a hashtag #istandwithtaylor  (or something like that) but all those other artists don’t deserve that then?

This is all taylor swift fans only supporting their fave even though a contract was signed. This is how contracts work, this drama is unnecessary.

If only those Little Swifties knew the kinds of struggles (of survival) “little” artists have to deal with day in day out. They really think she is suffering right now...:saladga:

They even made a petition against that scooter guy, sure that’s gonna break a contract
