Trump's Reason for Banning Trans People from Military: "Too Many Drugs"

"President Donald Trump started winding down his less-than-thrilling state visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday with a sit-down interview with one of England’s worst global exports, Piers Morgan. Over the course of the more than half-hour conversation, aired on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Trump claimed he banned transgender troops because they take so many “drugs,” equated climate change and weather, and talked Meghan Markle.

Asked about the hypocrisy of proclaiming his support for the LBGTQ community during Pride even as his administration carries out a ban on transgender troops in the U.S. military, Trump claimed the real issue was “drugs,” insisting that you’re not allowed to take prescriptions in the service.

“They take massive amounts of drugs,” Trump said. “They have to, and also—and you’re not allowed to take drugs, you’re in the military, you’re not allowed to take any drugs, you take an aspirin... and they have to, after the operation, they have to, they have no choice, they have to. You would actually have to break rules and regulations to have that.”

When Morgan pointed out that the Pentagon forks over tons of money to subsidize Viagra for servicemen—dwarfing the cost of medical care for trans troops—Trump nevertheless insisted “I didn’t know they did that,” adding, “It is what it is.”

This is a 2017 study from the Military Medicine Journal on the amounts of Anti-Inflammatory prescriptions that active duty service members received from 2006 to 2014:

"During 2006, the number of soldiers who received NSAID prescriptions (i.e., utilizers) was 348,031, which was approximately 69% of the total active duty population. In 2014, that number increased to 418,579, or approximately 82% of the total active duty population. The total number of NSAIDs that were prescribed to soldiers during 2006, 2011, and 2014 was approximately twice the number of utilizers, demonstrating that many soldiers were either being prescribed more than one NSAID or were receiving multiple prescriptions for a given NSAID over the course of a year."

Basically Trump is giving bullshit answers on why he banned Trans people from the military, making up stuff as usual.

No one said that they were surprised tho? I posted this article to further illustrate how he makes things up to further his agenda. It’s definitely not surprising but that doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t discuss when the President of the United States actively engages in lies and deception.

Many trans people are not on drugs, its only trans people who are transitioning. Also, many soldiers are drug addicts. Also, many soldiers with health issues take prescribed drugs.
