Boundaries of respect and decency are frequently crossed as ppl choose to act on fake feelings . As if their lives are somehow being hurt by complete strangers breaking up.

Why the hell did Mel B feel the need to pop off  at Gaga re:oscars? Like Gaga was the one her man cheated with.

And for godssake , leave Christian, Taylor, Bloodpop etc alone!

She won her Oscar. Are we suppose to care about this, I sure don't. We got our Oscar and that's all that matters tbh. Bradley and his ex-gf can deal with their problems on their own.

Gaga cares about ish, but I honestly think she'll let this slide off her. Rocket Racoon and Irina's PR has done a so so job of handling this, imo, but an excellent job in making it clear Gaga isn't to blame—it's mostly a few media outlets and people making jokes on twitter that are dragging Gaga into this mess.  A straight up statement mentioning Gaga would have made it far worse.

I am surprised they announced a break up right now—many couples wait for months to publicly break up even if they've broken up privately. While ASIB is long over, anyone could see that breaking up a few months after the Oscars would revive some gossip about Gaga. But it's very possible Irina and Rocket have been over for months already and were just tired of faking it.  But from a selfish, Gaga fan point of view I wish they had waited until August or September or a time when there was plenty of news (like the weekend of the first primary presidential debates) so Gaga would be completely left out of the narrative.

TLDR: The IG comments suck and are awful, but this could have been way worse and unless the print tabloids run with some ish next week this will all be forgotten in the next few days. LM on twitter need to stop fanning the flames though even if most of it is just memes and jokes—the whole joke that "Gaga's so happy at Enigma because she heard the news" about her performance the other day...that could have turned into a tabloid thing. Most people don't care, think Rocket's gay, or think he and Irina were over long before Gaga.  The R. Kelly thing back in February was way more damaging.

 

Also, part of me suspects some members of other fandoms are the ones leaving nasty comments and not actual Irina fans...let's not pretend like some of the LM would be above pulling that kind of ish either on another pop star.
