With the overwhelming success ASIB had and Joanne winning a grammy anything can happen

All the stars in the sky has to line up. Sadly the general public won't just simply put her at no.1, I just don't see it happening

But, again, if all the stars line up, if the song is relatable, catchy, well promoted, well hyped,   basically any Adele-ish single (shallow comes close), and with no competition ofc, it might

The GP is going to be looking when she releases no matter when exactly that time comes. the most important thing is that the music has to be good, she wont get a chance like this soon if she releases a medicore song

Sadly, only generic ass songs debut at number 1 nowadays. If she collaborates with Ed Sheeran and makes a song with generic tropical sounds and generic lyrics and hooks, then she’ll totally get it. But obviously we don’t want that.

I want quality music from Gaga, I don’t care where it charts. If an album or single flops but it’s good then who cares.

Friendly reminder Taylor, Sheeran, and Bieber - the Queen, King, and Prince of generic music, all debuted at nr. 2 this year

i really hope her first single is a big 4 on the floor banger and in mind it might be written by rami - i would love if she goes for something like "larger than life" Cinderella (britney) kind of song.

a dark version of that.

For a song that was months old by that point, bear in mind

I want to say yes, but then again I always have unrealistic expectations.

I will say debut top 10 for sure. #1 will just be a bonus :firega:

I think her team never goes with the momentum while she’s hot to release new music. A single should have been out by now.

As long as she’s in the top 5 I’m happy. That’s a hit.

Didn't we say that A Star Is Born would flop?

Last time I checked it grossed $435 million, obtained 8 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actress, and a Best Original Song win. Also didn't Joanne get nominated for a Grammy, AND WON it, when the fanbase said it wouldn't even get nominated?

I think it depends on how innovative the song and video are. Also as Shallow has proven, sometimes it takes time for the GP to appreciate a song or album. It very much depends on word of mouth, promotion and performances to catapult a song or album into its full potential.
