I know why they did the travel ban. Its invalid why they did it because in America, you dont get to protest abortion ban by removing the rights of American citizens. This is America, not a dictatorship country.

Waaaah.

Impressive indeed.

How did the United States of America become a country?

Did they ask politely for a peaceful independence?

I don't think so :poot:

Yeah.... Officials are citizens too are they not? They aren't necessarily politicians either

They can go their as citizens. Just not on official business or as representatives.

Nothing is stopping any citizen from going there out of their own free will, except maybe the fear of being treated as sub-human by Alabama laws. :wtf: :eww:

Abortion and policies toward it (direct or indirect) is like among the most controversial thing ever

And this involved politics trying to interfere with it (for better or for worse)

U shouldn't be surprised ppl have opinions on whether or not this is worth it :selena:

From what I understand it’s only banning trips relating to work with LA county. So like, this is next to nothing. The only thing that I can think of that this would disrupt is some type of study on poverty in the south or something but even that’s a stretch.

U shouldn't tell me what and what not to to feel surprised about :triggered:

Why in the world would LA ever have any government business to do with Alabama in the first place. This is merely a statement to express that the people of LA do not support Alabama's laws. And U were going on about how it's gonna affect "side businesses" that government officials in LA have involving the state of Alabama (?) which really doesn't make sense.

It seems the other objectors in this thread are mostly in that camp of thought that this is unfair to the citizens of LA or whatever but this literally doesn't affect anything it's just a message. So if y'all are mad, be mad about the message it sends not about what it's supposedly gonna do. Cuz this doesn't interfere with Alabama's law in any way either.

lol that is what YOU are doing, not what @Economy is doing. He is just replying to you telling other people how to feel.

I dont know why you are shocked that people are capable of having an opinion different to yours.

I'm shocked because you're angry for reasons that aren't true! This affects nobody's free will. That's fact.

Well tell them that and have an argument over it. You might be proven wrong with new information or you might prove that you are right. This is the point of having a discussion and a comment section on a forum. You should not join forums if you are expecting everyone here to have the same opinions as you specially in political topics. I changed my opinion on this topic 3 times just by reading new information on this thread.

I don't expect you to have my opinion, at all. I expect you to have good justification for your opinion and everybody in here has brought up justification against this policy which several other people have refuted including myself in my earlier post.

You can absolutely have your opinion but realistically the only opposition to this that makes logical sense would be that you don't believe LA should retaliate against the politics behind Alabama's law, not that the citizens will be affected--cuz they wont. I welcome debates always. It's my fav thing about this site
