If this is true it's kind of sad... this is literally just a paycheck for her and she doesn't care about putting on a good show. Which is just sad to see how she's changed from an artist to just a product.

You could also flip that and say she really loves the enigma show and felt that it was a great performance to bring because it brings her hits, promotes dance-pop gaga before her return, and is visually appealing. I could see where she’d be like, “let’s bring enigma because it does what this performance needs to do, it’s already rehearsed and performed, etc.”

Yeah homegirl didn’t even try to hit the “meet” note lol it’s not that she can’t do it; but let’s look at it from where shallow is in the performance: the very end after a large set with expansive vocals. She probably *could* hit that note, but there’s greater risk she doesn’t and does real vocal damage so I think she instead turns it into this very easy growl. It’s not the best of hers, I’ll say, but it’s not indicative of a lack of ability. If she does have a cold here then compound the setlist problem and you have this performance which, I think, still sounds pretty good sans that one note (but again, I think she’s doing that on purpose; there’s no way she slips so easily to it without it being on purpose)

That’s a good point, especially considering Enigma is “static”. It’s a fun, easy, and audience accessible show- the only best alternative being an acoustic show (which would require less collective rehearsal).

Idk if that's totally true because the jazz shows are still apparently great vocally. I can imagine it's very difficult to be changing singing technique so drastically between performances (her jazz style is *very* different from her pop), so it could really just be that she's putting more into getting J&P right rather than enigma since those songs are "easier", per se. I mean, let's think to when she had a fairly under-developed jazz style: 2011-2012ish. She could sing those songs pretty easily from pop, but in terms of style and technique she was still very much in her normal pop voice. But the two styles have grown increasingly more distinct from one another so I imagine it isn't easy to switch back readily.

I've been thinking about this and I have some theories.

She is one of the richest pop stars of our generation. The Vegas shows are paying $1 million per show, on top of what she already gets from everything she's done and released previously. She doesn't need the money from these private events.

So theory A: she's doing these private shows to raise money for something related to the next era that Interscope won't pay for so she doesn't feel like it's coming directly out of her own pocket.

Theory B: she's doing these shows for tech companies so she can ask for help in developing her own company or tech product afterwards.

A more likely reason is she's just providing an income for her team/dancers. Which is great!

However I don't see why she couldn't just do something fresh for these performances. Surely as an artist she would enjoy making something new rather than just going through the motions like a robot (which she was so quick to criticise Madonna for not so long ago...). And surely her dancers, band and stylists would enjoy the change too?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ever since Enigma began, her voice has been going on a downward spiral and ya’ll just don't want to face it. Is she bad? No. Is she the best she’s ever sound? NO. 

It doesnt have to be a bad thing, but when you currently cant top your past then you declined, simple as that. He voice has shifted over the years and thats natural, but dont come make excuses when ALL of enigmas shows have presented some very sketchy vocals. Plus, she has been lowering the key of her songs since the JWT (i’ve noticed that almost all songs now that i am editing the show). Homegirl just cant reach her old range, which makes sense because she wrote those songs at 22, and women's voices suffer heavy changes until 24

Why do you feel the need to keep stating that? Great you feel that way. Some of us just like watching her perform and enjoying her talent.

It's inevitable her voice will change as she gets older. It's the same for anyone of us. I do think some fans expect her to sound the same as when she did early on in her career which I think is unfair (because I don't think most artists do?) I'm no vocal expert but I imagine years of singing  live performances will have some kind of toll on your voice compared to an artist who might occasionally lip sync or do less demanding choreo.

It is true. All humans are the same. Unless you're an Opera singer and take extra care of your vocals, lots of training and no drinking and smoking (we know Gaga loves weed and whiskey so yeah, there's that).
