Thank you for responding with substance!

I feel like that is the direction she wanted the 4th album to go, but was steered into the ARTPOP direction by the label. Maybe now that she has the artistic liberty under this team of management she's going to make good on her original idea and concept. "Honor your vomit".

That's exactly what I was thinking the two past days. Maybe LG6 will be really close to what "the original ARTPOP" was supposed to be. She can revisit that idea and improve it, sonically and visually. She's gained A LOT of experience since 2012. She is on top again, like she was after BTW, everyone is talking about her and curious about her next move. The big difference is she has more artistic freedom now and nothing to prove anymore thanks to the amount of awards she's won. She is not seen as pretensious anymore.

i would love it!

but i have the feeling that this theme is for her whole career and not only a era. she will every now and then drips in and out of it.

i remember in 2010 or 11 it was very clear she would come up with joanne at one point.

right now i have the feeling we get into a "i put on a gaga superhero cape" theme next... she mentioned it so often in the recent interviews that i dont think its random

Which interviews? That's interesting

I think this theme/idea has been beaten to death by the fanbase. Gaga's best commentary on this subject was the VMA performance of Paparazzi and anything further would just be re-hashing a point she already made perfectly 10 years ago. It's time to let this idea go :bradley:

Wasn’t TFM kinda similar in this theme anyway? I can see why she didn’t follow through with it for LG4 because it seemed too similar to TF/M.

Not really, that's a common misconception. TFM isn't about fame at all, it's about Gaga's fears - fear of death, fear of sex, etc. There is no "fear of fame" song on the album. Really only the Paparazzi single era was her touching on celebrity/death of icons/fame culture etc. And then Princess Die.

I love this concept. The fame monster has some touches of this obsession in places, (Marilyn, Judy, Sylvia...show em how you feel girls) but for the most part is deeply personal and about herself and her own struggles with fame. It would be amazing to see gaga create a true concept album using the viewpoints of other people to depict the dark side of fame as well as to draw parallels between herself and other martyrs of fame  in a bigger way than TFM did - I've always loved gaga using historical or biblical stories to make a point (Judas, Bloody Mary as examples) and i think when she does this her intelligence and her lyricist abilities shine through better as well as allowing the songs to be more up for interpretation which makes things more interesting

I have been thinking about this as well and love your concept of it. I kinda wonder if she has been stock piling music with this idea of eventually dealing with the decay of the popstar she created as Lady Gaga?

With The Fame she really talked about the rise and toxicity of fame but not so much the demise of it. Princess Die (should have been a single:grr: its my fav) touched on this so well and I think is where she was originally heading with her fourth album and things in her life behind the scenes took a turn and we got ARTPOP instead. Now maybe she is happy with the content for the theme and cohesiveness of the album to explore it again. If so this could be her biggest album yet. I am so excited for it regardless but I would LOVE for it be this. With all of the white roses and references to roses plus the all black looks over the past few months I think she is definitely going with this certain aesthetic for the new era.

I was battling (for life) with this concept in context of the imminent era … but @Jadeykins and @LVbuttondown, elaborating on the OP, kind of gave perspective on how this is almost precisely where the narrative trajectory is headed in the near future … (again, not a prediction, none of this is binding, just thematic association)

The decay of the blonde … would be the natural progression from the recent Hollywood glamour ascent of ASIB … the literal descent of that stellar peak … the entire ASIB aesthetic embodied pure Hollywood blonde bombshell … and now, it detonates, disintegrates into the ether … or essence of the next era of said enigma’s form

The white roses …

The earliest meaning for the white rose was one of true love but this association is now more prevalent for the red rose. The white rose is also called the bridal rose and as such represent unity, and new bonds of love. The white rose at a wedding carries the message of new beginnings and purity.  As the white rose can also indicate honor and reverence and often a feeling of spirituality the white rose is often seen in sympathy arrangements at funerals. It is used to symbolize remembrance, love, and respect for the departed person.  In this case, the message of farewell is conveyed by the white rose.

White roses could honestly mean anything, but there’s a distinct merger of the birth, matrimony, and funerary / departure … which birthing a new phase, marrying the night of that decay, putting the blonde to rest, and onward and so on and so forth. … and of course the Princess Di(e) connection

6 being is a symbol of completeness within the space of numerical symbolism, would make narrative sense, tying in with the death and decay …

But I guess generally speaking within a capacity this at the very least resonates as a subplot or peripheral framework within the objective presence of this album being the first following her Hollywood takeover, a decade and some change after The Fame, (and quite frankly, achieving almost, if not everything, said Fame entails … so putting that mission to rest makes somewhat narrative trajectory sense), in the wake (and subcultural resurgence of) ARTPOP … also something about the distinct pivot in the Oscar / Cinema aesthetic versus the GRAMMYs, that clear distinction between Hollywood starlet and pop / rock star was so vivid … and not for nothing it would seem … and I guess in context of the B&W motif, that expression of duality, and the GAGA, of it all, maybe … idk, no real clear takeaway on this riff … I guess this was just to say, despite this rambling, the overall thread / concept feels relevant
