I’m kind of/used to be related to her. So I like her music unconditionally.

She used to be my fave before Gaga.

I had to unstan cause she wouldn’t change enough through eras and she looks and sounds kinda childish sometimes.

I just want her to evolve into something a little bit more serious and refined.

i loved Head Above Water tho with the exception of few cringey songs :vegas:

After she died in 2003 and then was replaced by Melissa Vandella, her music went downhill.

OMG, everything about her makes so much sense now!

She totally lost it with her a bit cringy Hello Kitty era, but I still adore her early career.

I don't understand it when people judge her for that, it was like a gift specifically for her Japanese fans. It's not a typical Avril song and she has only ever done one song like that.

I really used to love her Under My Skin album when I was younger! Then I feel like she went downhill vocally...I don't know the proper terminology to use, but it always sounds like she's straining to sing after Under My Skin? A good example is that song she did for the Alice in Wonderland movie. Like it made me cringe to hear her doing the screaming parts cuz it sounded like it was sung in a painful, unnatural way? idk how to explain it.  In Under My Skin I thought the vocals were so  much different and perfectly fine. I listened to her new Head Above Water single and I thought it was a decent song and the singing on that was back to the good way she used to sing (if not better!).  idk, she's the kind of artist who's new album I'll check out, but I don't ever really buy it anymore more than just a song or 2. :(

I grew up listening to her, been a fan since Complicated was on MTV and loved both Let Go and Under My Skin. I was shocked when she released Girlfriend, she became a joke but it was still a guilty pleasure, same with Hot.

Goodbye Lullaby is her 3rd best album in my opinion and really loved it, she was on the right track with these songs and Head Above Water is also a cute album, Tell Me It’s Over is so underrated.

I agree about Alice, it's not that she's technically straining (I think), it's just too much of it, it sounds like shouting. It can be headache-inducing lol.

I love her! My third fave after Gaga and ABBA!

My favorite albums are Under My Skin, Goodbye Lullaby, and Head Above Water! I really do love her slower more somber albums the most.

I do love the immature/more upbeat albums The Best Damn Thing and Avril Lavigne as well, though I need to be in the right mood for those ones!

Let Go is great too, especially for a debut, but it reminds me of The Fame in the fact that I mainly enjoy the singles and a few other songs. I find it to have the most filler of all her albums.

Well, it wasn't to judge her but the weeaboo movement. Even with her in it, it's hard to look over weebs.

She's my childhood music :tony:

I'm just sad that her new era happened to clash with ASIB. :bradley:

She deserves more
