Title is dramatic. There is 2 classifications of species at risk:

"Threatned" and "Endangered"

The article said 1 million are threatned which is the lower degree of danger. "Brink" of extinction implies that they are virtually in extinction

However this is insane that it's happening at hundreds of times the norm :madge:

The Earth itself will survive and nature will find a way long after we're dust. But its unfortunate for the other species co-existing with us, because we're destroying them along with ourselves.

It's never too late to better ourselves as a species but I don't see it happening.

Humans would probably be one of the last species on earth to die tbh besides bugs and microbes

By the time were extinct mother nature would essentially be gone

Shell and other oil companies/ mass food production companies are mostly accountable. They should be taxed heavily, and be forced to invest in short and long term solutions.

They merely produce a product we want and need. If consumers didn't consume it they couldn't sell it

Unless u refuse to use or ride anything that uses or consumes fossil fuels u do not have the right to hold the oil producers alone accountable

Unless ur willing to pay the much higher costs of buying everything organic and types produce that is grown in less damaging ways, u also cannot blame mass producers alone if you are adding to their demand

It upsets me how ppl love to always blame the Corporations and the wealthy for everything but they forget the bottom 95% are still the majority of resource consumption and Corporations cater to whatever it is we are demanding plain and simple

Point being, we are all partially responsible. U cannot put all the blame in a specific industry
