Nino 12 Posted May 4, 2019 Share Posted May 4, 2019 While we're airing our opinions on Gaga tours, y'all overrate The Born This Way Ball SO much. Y'all conflate a striking design and great album with being a great tour. The choreography was bad The setpieces like the dancers dressed as a Unicorn, meat couch, and Bloody Mary Segway dress were cheap and tacky looking, only made interesting with the extreme lighting to disguise them. Let's not even get started on the giant mold of her face with moving pictures pasted on top that turned out so uncanny that it's played off as intentionally creepy. But MOST importantly, it's a LADY GAGA tour where the only real instruments were a cheap keyboard pasted on the back of another tacky prop and a black spraypainted keytar. This the same girl who had the flaming piano on literally the tour before this and the bubble piano on her debut tour. She or more likely her team made her sacrifice the center of all her musicianship for the spectacle of her screwing a dancer and recreating her most hated album cover. This thread is already picture heavy so I'll spare the comparisons to her other tours but suffice to say even artRAVE, which had the whole aesthetic of being a tacky cheap rave looked better put together.
