At Ed Sheeran’s most recent stadium show in Jakarta, he performed Love Yourself, which he wrote and gave to Justin Bieber. Midway through the performance he sang a piece of an unknown song that fans are speculating is from their upcoming collaboration.

You can hear pieces of the song at 3:20 and 4:30. Ed also ends the performance by beautifully singing “If you like the way you look that much, baby you should just f*** yourself.”

This has me super excited! I know most people here aren’t loving the idea of the collaboration but a lot of people seem fairly interested, so I thought I’d share for those who are curious!

Well, I think “low quality” is a very subjective term. I do agree that this song most likely won’t go down in music history as one of the greatest ever written, but only 1 in about a billion do. Ed Sheeran has, however, received a great deal of support from Elton John, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and several other iconic, legendary musicians. So I personally don’t feel he or his fans qualify as “low quality.” I am aware that Bieber has a reputation of being “generic pop” for lack of a better term, but I don’t know enough of his music to say if I agree or not. Long story short, I guess I’m saying I partially agree and partially disagree haha

Anyways that turned into more of a rant than I intended . I completely respect your opinion, I just wanted to share my thoughts

OT: the fact he can easily work it into that song without it sounding like a different song really kinda proves it’s gonna be a repeat of a song style/sound for a hit 💀 a mess

Not that surprised tbh that Ed wrote this (bit of trashy lyrics, expected a little better) but this is likely part of Love Yourself or another song he wrote. It's too similar to LY so I hope it's not the new one.

I know! He started about two weeks after Divide came out in March 2017 and played arenas all year. Then in 2018 he upgraded to stadiums and continuing through the end of 2019. Honestly I don’t know how anyone can handle three whole years of touring in a row .  There’s a reason he won top touring artist at the BBMAs

He’s never remained impartial on human rights. He’s performed with pride flags, advocated for people to vote yes for same-sex marriage, brought Macklemore out to sing Same Love during his set, etc. Although I do get your point, he isn’t as bold of an advocate as Gaga and he didn’t have to deal with the awful things she did while in Jakarta. It’s so sad the awful things Gaga has had to go through simply because she supports human rights

I respect your opinion, but I feel the way he worked in the song is more of a testament to Ed’s performance ability as opposed to the songs sounding similar. He performs medleys at his shows all the time and is great at finding clever ways to mix songs together. All it means is he was able to find a way to intertwine the two songs, which every single artist does when they perform medleys. Gaga could very easily connect any of her songs that way while sitting at the piano.
