Anyone cribbing about this must LUVVVV external validation... crusty and pathetic   it’s good for everyone’s piece of mind that it’s not available to be seen. It’ll make posts more fun and interesting like insta used to be back in 2012-2014. Next Instagram should do away with follower lists and numbers

It feels strange but Overall this is a great thing.

Social media can have huge effects on young people especially due to everyone essentially having a Number and being gauged on popularity/followers/likes online.  Instagram focusing more on sharing and interacting is a very good thing, rather than the number game we've all become accustomed to and think is normal.

Wow, I’m super into this! I go through phases with Instagram... I use it a lot, and then I don’t update for months... I don’t think this will be the death of Instagram at all. Just a new beginning!

Thanks god, I feel like I (and people in general) get way more likes on pictures where you can see me. Sometimes I wish I could post other stuff but my numbers are low and it looks weird to go from 150 to 30 lol

People are still gonna post the same boring self absorbed selfies, or what they’re having for dinner, or any useless tat, regardless of whether we can see the likes or not

in fact, I feel like people are gonna post more boring stuff coz they know others can’t see if their posts “flop” or not

There’s really no point in having the number of likes visible other than vanity. Like why do people care if it doesn’t show anymore? As for influencers, I’m sure there’s a way to retrieve your data and use that for whatever brand deal you wanna make. I think all in all it’s a good move that will hopefully inspire a positive shift in society. People are way too desperate for validation from others. I deleted all my social media accounts my 2nd year in college cause i couldn’t handle the fakeness of it all and it made me feel so much better. I made new accounts and only follow my close friends and it’s so much more enjoyable.
