YaaaasGaga 6,119 Posted April 22, 2019 Share Posted April 22, 2019 So I'm writing about Lady Gaga as part of my Celebrity and The Media module at university and have to talk about the view that "the ever-changing nature of celebrity affords us the opportunity to negotiate discourses surrounding individualism and identity". I'm using her as my example as she's always changing her style in both fashion and her music as a way of showing who she is, often stating that it's part of her identity and that her fans also help form part of their own social identities through being fans of hers as a community and identifying with her messages of love and acceptance etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of any academic journals or articles that spoke about Lady Gaga and her identity? I've found one or two but any others would be massively helpful for me to read through.
