Google on Tuesday announced its plans to upend the $140 billion gaming industry dominated by Sony and Microsoft with a new streaming service called Stadia that allows people to play high-end games without purchasing expensive consoles or computers. Google said this is a “game platform for everyone.”

All of the legwork to render those games is done in Google’s cloud.

like what the article says, microsoft already has the advantage because of their relationships with other developers.

I thought it could work from the perspective of accessibility and marketing. Stadia gives me the feeling of being easier to use than Xbox's platform (whichever name it has). But that's just me idk. Plus, Google has YouTube and all of its other services to help Stadia, so there's that.

Enough with the streaming services :saladga:

if you want to spend $499 or more on a new console, spend like $20 buying only one physical CD, or $10 buying only one digital CD, well that's up to you. But there's no denying streaming is infinitely more comfortable and quick

Kind of here for this tbh. It's annoying to continuously buy heavy, expensive, black boxes in order to play the newest games. Just interested to see the quality of the games in comparison to a PS4 or Xbox.

Yes, assassins creed odyssey was subject of test by Ubisoft and google earlier when it released, you got to play it on google chrome and other devices by streaming. It was a “sneak peak” about what was coming. Maybe we will see Ubisoft games on it
