The problem is that critics of ARTPOP present their PREFERENCES as facts as to the quality of the work, or the meaning of the work. If your mother spent an entire day baking you a cake but it tasted like sh!t to you, does that take away from the reason or meaning behind why she basked a cake for you all day long to try and make you happy? It doesn't take away from her effort if you simply state you don't like it and be done with it. However, if you don't like the cake, and therefore state that the reason why it is sh!t is because your mom didn't actually work hard on it, or she didn't work hard enough, or  it sucked because she was too stupid to make it right the way you would like it, that is going into the realm of hatred and vileness, not displeasure. The critics are expressing their displeasure while attacking her dignity in respect to the work she has created. Back to the mom example, do you think your mother would be ok with you hating her cake and blaming her for how horrible it is and telling her it's because she didn't work hard enough just because you didn't like it? Intentions were good (ARTPOP) but it sucked (quality of the songs), ergo, I would tell my mom that the cake sucked. But one person's opinion isn't important. However, if EVERYONE who ate the cake said it sucked... It probably sucked.  It's a like a gilded frame. On the outside of a frame, it's beautiful and covered in gold. But in the inside its cheap metal. Same with the cake. Great intentions in outside, bad taste left in my mouth.  ARTPOP is the same. Gilded frame with great intentions, contents inside don't live up to the outside.  She needs to learn that despite the lack of experience of critics, she needs to know how to separate good criticism from bad criticism. If they talk negatively on her music, that's good. If they talk negatively about her personality, that's bad. Bringing it back to the cake. If I say the cake is bad, that's good. The reason they write articles is because she's a volatile star who attracts headlines. They don't have a vendetta against her, they write what people will read. If some irrelevant musician was having a breakdown you wouldn't see any articles on it because there would be no readerbase for that. All critics in general have tastes and opinions of their own that WILL determine their critique... They are their own person and don't speakon behalf of EVERYONE! Â Â You don't have to know a lot about food to know if its delicious or the most disgusting thing you've ever eaten. You don't need to be a chef to know that. Right now, Gaga looks like those chefs from Restaurant Nightmares where they think their food is the greatest thing in the planet, but in reality it is garbage.
