are you suggesting it’s okay for a white person to make money by singing about how hard it’s to be black? :rip:

I’m off of this convo, you clearly don’t see what’s problematic with this.

yup, as suspected, woke twitter sjw right here.

what i'm saying is THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO BE SOMETHING IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND THE STRUGGLES OF IT.

cant believe i had to explain that, my god.

you clearly need to invest your time into more 'problematic' matters, because if a pop song is problematic for you, then... whoah.

I just caught this on YouTube and thought I’d come here for the Gagadaily reaction and wow. You guys are savage :toofunny:

Its catchy, Sweet But Psycho 2.0, but the video is a little dated and as pointed out the ‘misfit’ theme overdone so so much.

Jesse Glynn’s ‘Thursday’ and Anne-Marie’s ‘Perfect’ come to mind as recent songs with a similar theme, both of which I enjoyed more than this

Sounds like a worse version of SBP with clingy lyrics and bad choreography. What on Earth is this... :neyde:

Also stop acting like MadonnaNation.

We literally aren’t. Are we supposed to say that this song is amazing and she should keep making songs like this even though the song is actually pretty bad? No. People say much worse about even Gaga’s music so relax.

I'm like the biggest Ava defender here. But this is just too similar to Sweet But Psycho, it's lyrics are cringe, and the video is too cliche. At least there's dancing. If it comes on the radio I won't change the station but I probably wont go out of my way to listen to it.

Guess I'll still have to bop to My Way until the next single is released.

the fact that you tell me to not compare them, & bash ava solely on gaga comparisons & literally think that she's trying to 'replace' gaga's place in pop music is just...

Not what I said or meant anyway.

It's only when you try to argue that Gaga is eligible for the same criticism I give to Ava that I'm comparing the two. I didn't mean to say Ava was trying to replace Gaga, just that it's obvious (to me) that she is being positioned into the void that Gaga left after 2014 by her management. I'm not hating on it, it's smart.

The only thing that's missing is good music, good lyrics, good visuals and overall something interesting. That's why I'm criticizing her, not for being calculated or whatever. But there are ways to be calculated while still delivering an awesome product. I think Gaga has done that consistently (until recent years anyway) and has upped the game for her competitors. If this is the "new Gaga" as many people call her then that means the game's standards have been lowered dramatically :rip:

Kind of sounds like:

And so on :selena: SBP sounded familiar but I couldn't identify it while this one was quicker.

I was excited for this but It feels off.. Like It sounds so similar to something I've heard before. Almost identical to POPPY -  Altar or Xtina & Pitbull - Feel this moment. That aside It's catchy I guess but the Lyrics are kind of basic and the video didn't do anything for me.

Before anyone comes for me, It's my opinion. I'm not 'Hating' I actually wanted to like this song.

Y'all it's just a pop song :toofunny:

Don't think it's worth losing your marbles over, if you don't like it just don't listen to it

i love everything about it, even though everything about it screams cliche and calculated, but it's a f— catchy pop song with a great message, and i love that it makes me feel young again. i hope that she'll do the same thing for the struggling teens of this generation that gagz did for me (us?) back then. lemme put it on repeat. :flower:
