A Letter To All Little Monsters - We Need To Be Better For Gaga

Dear Little Monsters

Gaga does so much for us, but we rarely show her respect. We start viral hoaxes, bullied her fiancé, beg her for certain types of music, get mad at her when she is crazy, get mad at her when she is stripped down, among many other things. Gaga loves us, but we aren't showing much love back. I know that the majority us Little Monsters are good people that uphold her values, but it's the few people that don't that stand out. I think it is our job as Little Monsters to point out and call out Little Monsters who don't uphold her values. I hope Gaga hasn't heard of some of the things we did, she would be so disappointed in us if she heard about the whole #Shallowbucks scam, and all the things we've done in recent years. I know some of you think you're helping Gaga by doing these things, but you're not. I know I am using the term "we" here, when it is only a few people, this is because one one Little Monster messes up the media doesn't say their name, they say "Lady Gaga fan does..." or "xyz because of Lady Gaga fan". When one of us messes up, it looks bad on all of us, and it looks bad on Gaga too. She REALLY loves us, but we need to show we love her back. That is why I'm asking all of you Little Monsters to speak up when you see a Little Monster being a bully, disrespectful, or just not upholding to Gaga's values. Gaga is always there for us, it's time we be there for her.

Thank you. Gaga does nothing but show love and support and kindness and some little monsters don’t do the best job of doing the same. Her message is the most special thing about her (out of so many special things about her), and most of her fans share this message and help spread it, but those that harass her and her team give the entire community a bad name. I know Gaga isn’t reading this, but on the off chance that she somehow is, I want to thank her for being the role model she is. I do my best to always spread kindness as often as possible and many other Monsters do as well, and those who don’t do not represent the whole of the Little Monster community.

I love what your saying but the shallow bucks and Spotify controversy is straight up hilarious and people shouldn’t take it so seriously. Even the media is making fun of it because it’s so absurd. Yah it was wrong cause it’s a scam but I highly doubt many people fell for it. 

If anything, it shows how funny and creative little monsters are.

You are a model example of what a Little Monster should be. Thank you for spreading kindness in this world! I know she probably won't but if Gaga does see this, I bet she'd love to see that most of us Little Monsters are like you and me, spreading kindness! She really is an amazing role model!

Thank you! I totally agree with this. I hate how some fans say that Gaga doesn't work as hard as she used to or she doesn't put enough effort into her shows, but I'm pretty sure everything is very stressful for her. For example, with ENIGMA, a lot of people said she isn't trying anymore and that she doesn't work as hard. They don't even know what happens behind the scenes. You don't have to like the show, but just appreciate what Gaga is doing for us because she doesn't have to do any of this for us.

Thank you for this! This fan base has just become more and more toxic over the years. I used to love coming on the internet to interact with other monsters but now I almost always expect it to be a negative experience. The other day I was watching a bunch of Gaga videos on YouTube on my tv and I really felt all of the music. I was reliving so much it felt like the first time again, and I really felt and appreciated her art. I feel like some of us forget all that she’s done already and it’s sad. I actually think I need to take a break from this site and when I come back use t less frequently, because it ruins experiences. All I know is I love Gaga and I’m so greatful for everything she has taught me, and I’m greatful for all of the little monsters who actually spread her message of love and appreciate her work the way I do

I love how gracefully you put it "All I know is I love Gaga". Some Little Monsters lose that love. It's great to see the ones that love her!

Totally! Just a side note on ENIGMA, some people were let down because it wasn't the show of the century, but they hadn't realised they were only let down because they had Gaga standards. If their fave did this... imagine the praise if Rihanna or Ariana or Demi or most popstars these days did anything nearly as creative and wonderful as ENIGMA... that's why the critics loved it.

Agree. I think the Shallowbucks thing was stupid and petty more than anything else, but the Venom thing...during her first attempt to be seen as a serious actress....not good, even if it clearly wasn't on her. It even got written up in Deadline FFS. The Ed Sheeran thing was insane, too. He was an ass, and he probably wanted that attention in the first place—but it still wasn't right at all what LM did to him. Calmly calling him out for being petty and randomly going after a woman would be one thing, or ignoring him....but that wasn't what happened.

If someone makes a sexist comment, I feel like people can call it out calmly. Same with clarifying something that is clearly false and/or casts Gaga in a negative light. But there's no reason for the LM to turn into cyber bullies, and instead of going "No, that's incorrect because of x, y, or z" or "This is the real answer, that is wrong" or "This is a sexist take"...the LM sometimes go rabid.

Same with the stan wars. LM are not the worst when it comes to that -ish, but why engage? There is no reason to bash women (I'm not talking about a mild criticism, but that very particular stan type of bashing/pitting women against one another), especially when Gaga would not be down with that. And yeah, I do think a certain star engages in payola but constantly bringing it up on twitter and taunting her stans with it is pointless.

I agree. Social media of any form can be such a toxic place, it really is best to step away from that sometimes to clear your mind and just enjoy what makes you happy. It can be disheartening to have people speak so negatively about things you love. It’s one thing to share your opinion, but people can be so disrespectful at times.

gaga is preaching about kindness and against bullying for 10 years, some of us should really start thinking and act like civil humans.
