Gaga is an amazing artist but you can't deny her name can be attached to a certain stigma to some: women, 2000s popstar, "weird", "gay icon". Her reputation has been very good lately though which is great.

Gaga is above 30, which can be radio poison as they sometimes look for new and hip and young artists.

Gaga's career is doing fine, however she's not translating into the streaming era as much as some other artists, the numbers post ASIB speak for themselves and we'll see with LG6.

Her latest radio hit was Applause, which could indicate why radios were reticent to play Million Reasons / Shallow, even more after the PI fiasco.

Gaga is not as trendy amongst the youth as before. Her listeners are older, they're not really teenagers.

well, in that case and if what you say is true, radio is the most disgusting, bigoted, misogynistic media that I have seen. Do you think this is Ok?

Shallow is #3 WW and #9 here in the UK

Plus this is literally the start of her inside of the streaming era, give it some time

tbh the ARTPOP era was fine singles wise during the 14 weeks Applause spent in the Top 10. We should have enjoyed it more but of course we were too disappointed that it didn't go #1 to realize how huge 14 weeks in the Top 10 was for a song that didn't even reach the Top 3.

At least we acknowledged its radio run! Even tho it was weird to say: Applause is Gaga’s biggest radio hit while the Katy rats were dragging us to the pits of hell for “flopping”

Spoiler

I remember the 24hrs of Applause mv, that was a moment, that was hard work

another shot before we kiss the other side

Okay but I doubt all of her streaming power will disappear as soon as she releases LG6 :selena:

With the right promo and TTH placement it's an easy #1

You can't always have an audience of teenagers. Gaga's about to be 33 and it's actually a sign of maturing that her music doesn't appeal the pre teen / teen target the way f. ex Ariana does Right now I'd say Gaga is particularly strong with women above 30 which isn't considered as cool and hip but does she even want to be identified with those adjectives rather than the ones she's being identified nowadays (legend, artist)?. The target Gaga hasn't hit yet is college hipsters or alt clubbers/pub guys etc. After showing them she's a great singer and that she's real, she can show them she knows about electronic music (what she originally intented with ARTPOP but failed) and deliver a good pop album with somewhat obscure intelligent dance music influences.

TL;DR Gaga shouldn't aim for global teen domination with her music. LG6 should be  alternative, fresh electronic music. Get that Metacritic 90 score

Well she won't have a movie to promote LG6, so we'll see :huntyga:

Yes of course I agree with you, but for radios (and that was the subject), DJs seem to jump often on the young and trendy artists and play their songs.
