She can't and never will. The more successfull she is, the more hate she'll get and people will find any reason to do that! You just gotta make peace with that. And like somebody said above, you can't "break up" a healthy relationship and if some misogynistic people want to blame it on her (if anything happens), that's their problem, they don't matter anyway.

And also I don't think anything will happen between them, a lot of on-screen people get shipped because the audience gets too emotionaly involved and confuse movie with reality!

And rumors have been that they've been on the rocks from nearly the beginning, before Gaga even came in the picture. Like I'm not hoping anything happens because I don't want Gaga to deal with the tabloid clusterf*ck, but they never got married or even engaged and unless they don't believe in marriage, which could be possible, or they wanted to wait for money work reasons (not possible)...that's kind of a sign something may be going on regardless of Gaga.

Lastly, it's a tale as old in time in Hollywood. Noah Baumbach left Jennifer Jason Leigh for Great Gerwig, and it's one of those things only hinted at because Greta is well liked but JJL basically confirmed it. Liz Taylor. Grace Kelly. Angelina. Even Tom Hanks.  And in all those scenarios, the men skate (I think people are even unaware of Tom Hanks...I learned it in a media class when we were discussing the coverage of female celebrities vs. male).

I'm just hoping IF something happens, and I'm ssrly starting to think it is, that neither one of them is stupid enough to go public until late summer. It'd be a tabloid clusterf*ck, but the saving grace would be that Gaga has always been seen as more Angelina than Jennifer Aniston cause it would be way worse if she had an Aniston/TSwift reputation and that he was never married or engaged.

But I can just imagine the tabloid mess if Irina comes, if Irina doesn't come, Gaga's speech, BCoop's speech if he somehow manages to overcome Rami, their performance, etc. And not just the tabloids..some of film/oscar twitter. Like thank god film twitter is going to be enraged by BoRhap and GreenBook that while their knives will be out, there will be bigger targets.

I don't think the Vegas thing was necessarily a -bad- idea in theory because they should have been doing that stuff to campaign for the film the whole time. Like most of the Oscar race people said that, only one thought it looked inauthentic, in addition to BCoop doing more press/making the actors rounds. Like the GP and MSM ate it up for the most part, although it fueled the fire for later sh*t.

I think in light of the gossip, and the still frames that became the focus of the video (her on her knees, him with his arm wrapped around her and his face in her neck which got way less play), that it did become off but the original concept was solid.

Putting on my gossip tin foil cap: I'm kind of wondering if she and Christian have been over longer than it has been public, but they were afraid that some photos of him with other women may be out there so it was better to get out ahead of the story or that some photos of Gaga with Mark or the tattoo guy would be construed the wrong way. Because PR wise, it is completely bizarre for her to dump it out there unless she truly gives zero f*cks, which could also be true.

But I kind of agree with you that at that level Rocket and Gaga are -aware-, so they either both give zero f*cks or something else went down. I was really hoping he went with Irina, and she took Mark as her date because that would have killed a lot of the speculation. They media would assume she and Mark might actually have something going on, but since he's a behind the scenes type for the most part they wouldn't care to blow it up.

They don’t look like a couple, like a close platonic relationship off screen if you ask me.  Also, Gaga isn’t his type, he’s a modelizer, only dates models.

I just hope he doesn’t break up with Irina soon as Gaga will be blamed for it, even though they won’t become a couple as a result.

Maybe them coupled up in the corner all night at the CAA party was them discussing their performance and what their next step should be. I saw an interview where he said the first trip to Vegas was planned. I guess he wanted to see how performing Shallow would be if she called him up on stage. Maybe once he got up there he remembered how he felt singing with her hence all the longing glances. Really curious to see how Irina is on the red carpet...

So you think he was just that into her he was willing to play along, or as a CAA guy realized it would just be better for both of them to keep it together during awards season?  I imagine a CAA guy being allegedly messy would not be good for him, as they pride themselves on being discreet.

I didn't necessarily see it that way, but I could see how others thought the performance played out that way. ARUTW should have been the song nominated—it's a better song—and then there wouldn't be this potential tabloid messiness & the fact that people are going to be disappointed that he won't sing in the Jackson voice.

And ugh, you totally know they will do a camera cut to Bradley, and Irina since she'll be next to him, during her speech cause they often do that when people accept awards.

Well I don’t know that they were admitting to themselves and each other it was over. So no I’m not suggesting they kept it up for appearances, I just think you can tell by their body language it was finished. Plus the whole weird note garbage with the Oscar noms. It seems as they didn’t want people know to was over, but then suddenly it came tumbling out. At the worst time.

The fans are in large part to blame. Gagadaily.com is proof. I wish all this speculation would stop. Why can't they just be good friends? Why isn't that enough? As a real life couple I just can't see it. She needs to find a man who wants the same things she wants - babies and a family of her own. There is someone better suited for her out there. I hope she finds her true love and lives happily ever after. The stress of getting involved with a co-star - one who is in a somewhat commited relationship with a child already - will take a toll on their relationship if it were to happen. It's not worth it when there are likely other less messy options out there for her.
