Time to acknowledge that WDYDT is a f*king bop

It definitely grew on me even though I didn't like it the first time around. If I'm in the mood, yes it is a bop.

It's my least favorite on ASIB tbh. Idk, it never really grew on me, but her vocals are great. But honestly, I can't believe this is a fan favorite when "Before I Cry" gives amazing vocals (better than WDYDT) and the production is flawless, but is paid dust in the fandom, just like Angel Down

time to acknowledge that it's a song that signifies Ally selling out and getting caught up in the worst aspect of the industry... I'm starting to think some Gaga fans actually hate the new music Gaga is making but they can't admit it so they are catching at any straw that sounds like her songs ten years ago calling it amazing.

It is the most basic bop ever written.

In the worst sense possible.

It fits the movie for how record labels typically market a brand new pop star.

I prefer HM and HBF.

I mean... didn't we all know this lol? It's not a secret, everyone's been very vocal about how much they hate Joanne/have had enough Jazz, and want more dance pop. And of course it makes a lot of sense then that they will enjoy the ASIB pop songs...

I also don't think people should be made to feel about it. Gaga was THE best at making pop music and doing pop performances. Her earlier music is what defined a lot of fans' music tastes, and therefore we are of course going to want her to make more of it. Because even though there are lots of very talented and interesting pop artists out there, no one else can do it quite the way she does.

It's my least favourite.

But it's a fan favourite so I think people have acknowledge the boppiness of it a while ago :poot:

All the “pop” songs in ASIB are my least favourites they just sound very generic

I don't like it because of how inauthentic it was for her character in the movie.  Tough to watch.  If I separate from that, then yes, the pop ASIB tracks are pretty legit -- including HBF and HM.

I mean, it's a bop—but it's not on the level of "good" pop imo. Something can be technically dumb/bad, but still fun and catchy as hell.  Like Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl, which is dumb/bad but catchy, versus some of Perry's other bops which technically seem much better.  But Diane Warren said the ass jeans song is meant to be good and not just catchy, so who knows?

I feel like an outlier in that I love Joanne and I like the jazz, but I'm not sure why people think she isn't going back more to straight up dance pop. Like DJ Whiteshadow and BoysNoize definitely signal a return to more of her old style, and we know for sure they are involved due to tweets/posts. My guess is while Joanne only had a few pop/dance pop songs and was more pop rock, L6 will be the reverse with mostly dance pop and only a few songs with a Joanne vibe.
