BUtterfield 8 41,385 Posted February 5, 2019 Share Posted February 5, 2019 With the Grammys just days away, the final preparations for performers and announcers are coming together: Among them, Variety has confirmed with sources that K-pop sensations BTS will be presenting an award at the show. I just can’t understand why people just hate k-pop. I feel like the intense fan bases is part of the reason. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. I will say the reason I dislike them is because their fans hype them up in a way that makes it seem like they are the next Jesus. I don’t see anything new or exciting when I look at the groups so I go “why is this so hyped?” I don’t have a problem with them. It’s just the fans that need to dial it back on the hype. They have reasons tho. They’re not only a streaming powerhouse but a brand that make a lot of $$$, they’re GREAT in sales in the US, breaking record, etc. They even helped us on a listening party. Achievements aside: they do have great voices and well, their dancing is epic + great stage presence that we wish some of our pop girls could have. I’m not part of the ARMY and I don’t really enjoy k-pop but well, it’s understandable why the their fans act like that. I’m not a fan of KPOP myself but the amount of hard work and sweat that goes into what they are doing is extraordinary! Every single one of their performances is perfectly executed. So you in a way understand why people hate Gaga then. It is the same situation as you do now Remember 2009-2012 when Mobsters always love to say "when will your faves?" each time Gaga did something major?
