uhhh… no

that's incorrect. Blackface was NOT acceptable in the US in the 80s. It's not just posing as KKK and not just blackface. It's the combination of the two together that makes it even worse.

Discussing Hitler is still taboo and shameful to this day in Germany, do you actually believe dressing like him in the 80s was something everyone did?  It's fine to assume the majority of the people were racist back then, but their actions peaked at throwing around discriminative phrases and words, not dressing to be part of the KKK. Do you know how serious that is?

I wouldn't say everyone tho but I think a bigger portion of people who get very worked up about something that happened 30+ years ago themselves have done something or at least said something that if it became public would become pretty serious
