I still don't know how Cher managed that. In this ageist industry a singer (especially female pop) having a big hit at that age is unheard of

Madonna's last big hit (4 minutes) which wasn't as big as Believe btw, she was younger than Cher and she had help by featuring Justin Timberlake

It was probably with the help of the new sound, "Autotune," since no one heard it before and was intrigued by it, and also because it's a VERY catchy song :laughga:

Jewels n Drugs

tbh it would be amazing if her next movie (or any movie) becomes iconic like Titanic, Lion King, Wizard of Oz, etc. Something people will watch for decades. Imagine her having a staple song and a staple movie :flutter:

I mean she could have a huge hit if she wanted to but it doesn't seems like she wants to... I miss when she wanted to be the biggest popstar in the world nobody wanted it more than her

The reality is she might never have a single with that much impact again. That could of been it. She’s talented enough to be capable of it but I wonder how well would BR would do if it was released now? I think with any hit it’s just a matter of right place, time etc...

BR is a once in a lifetime song/moment.

It's a shame that moment peaked at number 2.

Its amazing how many classics never even got that far tho. Goes to show the charts are not a fair assessment of a songs quality!
