Do you actually watch Fox News or learn about them from SNL skits? They have a black host on 'The Five' who's the most left-leaning personality on their network.

Ask Kevin Jackson if I'm wrong.

Europeans need to stop acting like they don’t understand that when someone says something like this they are speaking of WHITE AMERICANS, which all speak English.

Then say white Americans. Not that difficult. Plus pretty sure that there are many white Americans who immigrated there who speak with a accent.

This is a topic about an American channel discussing American issues with an American panel. It doesn’t need to be said, it’s a given and you know that.

MOST white Americans do not have a non-American accent. It is a given that when someone says “sounding white” they are not referring to a Polish immigrant who just arrived in Las Vegas 5 months ago.

We aren’t talking about Europe. AT ALL.

It is very well known “sounding white” in how you speak and even having a “white sounding name” can get people far.

“Sounding white” = being more “educated” in many people’s minds.

Many black Americans have a distinct way of speaking that may difer from white Americans. Either AAVE or an accent.

Yeah, we who grow up in hoods have a different way of speaking. We are very informal when we speak and sometimes also when we write too. I have grown to know though that I have to switch characters in different environments because "normal" me is the type of person that gets judged because of how I speak. So, Us people from urban communities consider acting "white" to be really formal and professional. It may seem weird to certain people but this is due to eurocentric pressure our communities have constantly endured.

What does sound white even mean. Last time I checked white people don‘t speak the same language.

Her argumentation is the same though.

Research it and/or talk to black folks to educate yourself.

Its a significant issue for minorities.

Because of discrimination and gaining acceptance for housing, workplace, etc.

What is discriminatory about the requirement to speak proper English? It's definitely not a race issue. There are also many white people in the South who speak with a heavy twang and violate some grammar rules.
