The vision Dany saw in the House of the Undying came true, Sansa was crowned Queen in the North, Dany’s death was dramatic and emotional AF, Jon finally noticed Ghost. The only thing I would’ve changed is Bran becoming King. I know it would’ve been cliché, but Jon should have gotten it. I mean, he saved the Seven Kingdoms why does he need punishment? Because Greyworm demanded it. What authority do the Unsullied have now that Dany is dead? That would be my only complaint.

This does not mean that we have to like it though...Especially how they killed her character... Also, they build this character as THE Character you root for. Sure they turned a lot of people you were routing for into evil. The difference here though is that nobody was left to root for and that has been George R. R. Martins point all along. Reality is not as simple as Heroes and Villains.

Monster7 5,697
Unpopular opinion: the last episode was very good comparing with the rest of the season The only problem is that just like the Night King in ep 3, we don't know anything actually about bran, or like daenerys in ep 5, there's not been a real evolution
Monster7 5,697
To sum up, I like the ending. But the story to get to that ending is horribly written. Everything feels messy and rushed into 6 episodes instead of

I’m so heartbroken at what these writers have done. I’m in literal tears (maybe because I’m drunk) This whole episode shouldn’t exist. Xoxo, the dragon queen. Dany was still a great character. She believed her own hype a bit too much and couldn't differentiate her actions as bad anymore. They have been telegraphing this for years. Dany has always taken just a bit too much glee from violence. Dany fans all wanted her to follow a standard fantasy trope hero arc. Well, surprise, this is not a follow the numbers fantasy series, and never has been.
Lion Heart 15,041
TFW you get "punished" being sent to the Night's Watch (which doesn't exist anymore), while your sister is Queen in the North, and your brother is King of Westeros. Greyworm, Unsullied, Dothraki have ****ed off. What is stopping Jon from coming back? ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
Othon 33,384
As I said last week, there could have been a way to make an ending like this work. I've always wanted the series to end with an end to kings and queens and an uprising of the people who've had to endure all of the bloodshed while wealthy aristocrats played political chess with their lives. They almost got there with this (instead they instituted a neoliberal ruling class of moneyed nobles, and if this was meant to be a comment on the state of the US, that would've certainly made sense), but the execution was way off. They didn't effectively get us from point A to point B with enough connective tissue to sell what they concluded on. I'm not saying everything in this finale could've been sold effectively (I disliked quite a bit of it), but, in the abstract, something LIKE this could've worked if they'd been able to write it comprehensively. This felt like a dumbed down version of the show, what detractors have always said it was: another corny fantasy series.
BOMSHELL 2,708
It's a good thing Arya spent all that time training so she could kill the Frey's as a Faceless Man that one time and then never do it again. It's a good thing Jon got brought back from the dead by the Lord of Light so he could scream at a Dragon and stab the queen. This was like watching a gymnast do a perfect 10/10 routine and then **** their pants on the dismount, land wrong, and shatter both their ankles. _________ Lmaoooo loved the comment above, from reddit https://reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/bqpces/_/eo6fann/?context=

I don’t have any counter arguments because I know what everyone is saying is piping hot tea. But it still doesn’t take away from the fact that they built her up to be a well liked character. Which was probably their intention anyway. Oh well. I still Stan.
