I can see why it looks like that but I think she's just trying to stay calm and hold it together. She's Lady Gaga, she's an actress, she's been in the public eye, knows how to contain herself. Was probably saving her meltdown for when she gets on the stage. I thought it was very real because it was so unlike her. She also sounded natural and her New York girl speaking voice came out. She didn't stop nor look at him because that would've made the situation awkward. So she just looked away and squeezed in without being bothered at all and not making a scene.
