Perhaps she means the songs will be more melodic.

I certainly hope so.

While I liked Melodrama and PH, my main criticism of her material is that most of it didn't have enough of a memorable melody. If she could develop more complex melodies while maintaining her artistry, we are in for an amazing album! :excited2:

Lorde makes music I relate the most to. Every release makes me feel like we are growing together.

honestly, just for her, i'd wait 10 years for an album

pure heroine was brilliant, and i was just shocked with melodrama, she outdid just about everyone & everything with that one

were they songs born on the piano? maybe i'm misinterpreting what's being said?

What I took from it is that they'll be slower songs

They were written on the piano. Which is what I think Lorde is trying to imply (that she's gonna write a lot of the record on the piano instead of bouncing ideas back and forth with collaborators in the studio using machines).

DO. NOT. TAKE. A. LONG. TIME. TO. RELEASE.

Melodrama is my favourite album, and I’ve been waiting on the follow up for too long already

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Born around a piano doesn't sound like an album i'd enjoy :cryga:

But she always delivers, so i still got my hopes up

Almost every Gaga song is born around a piano. She writes the song, lyrics and melody in the piano, and then she works the song with her producers. I'm sure Lorde will be do the same. I mean, using the expression "born around" doesn't mean the song will be piano driven, it means she will start with the piano this time. Exactly like Gaga.

So "born around a piano" might sound exactly like an album you'd enjoy!

I think they meant that Gaga wrote the songs on the piano and even though they're not all slow songs they came from the piano

Hell yes. She had the best album of 2017

Facts are facts. I'd even go so far to say that it's my most favorite album in recent memory. And I so love that she's learning an instrument and I'm reminded of the way Gaga begins writing her songs herself, just her and a piano.

I really think that Writer In the Dark is what she means:

There's always a song on every record, and I call them portal songs because they - as sort of a little glimpse into what could happen, what that artist could, you know, could go on to do. And I feel like this song, there's something about it. I - it happened very quickly.

A lot of the songs on this record were just so drawn out. And this one was like a couple of days and it was done. And we just - we were scared to mess with it too much, I think. We didn't want to take the essence out of it. So yeah, I really love this one.

I wonder what song was that on Pure Heroin. Maybe Ribs?
